DarkForest DB-3 Durable Steel Fixed Blade Broadheads 100 Grain Hunting Arrowhead - Pack of 6

Have hunted with success using these broad heads for the last couple years because they shoot just like my G5 Montec broad heads and are just as durable but at a much lower price. I give them a four star rating this time because they aren't near as sharp as the last ones I purchased. A little time on the sharpening stone and they will be good to go at least for half of them because the other 3 I planed on using them for practice anyway and they don't need sharpened.

The arrow heads are great. I like them. They fire well. Not as big as I expected from the picture so for future buyers, I have a normal arrow head and 30' arrow next to it for scale.They look flimsy since they are tiny but can be durable for quite a while without bending much.The case is very flimsy and as you can see in the picture, it has already broken into pieces at the corners during delivery.All 6 broad heads were fairly sharp. I feel if they were more sharper then they might bend at the edges after you fire couple times.Overall I was torn between 4 star and 5 star rating and I just gave 4 star coz the issues are quite significant! I wish I could give 4.5 stars coz they are quite well made apart from the issues I pointed out that they should fix in future. 😎

I have bought Montec's G5 broadheads in the past, and they're expensive. 3 G5 will run around $40, while you can get 6 Dark Forest for $20. Their make and feel are identical, sans a small number that I couldn't take a photo of. The G5 have a tiny number 2 near the tip, while the Dark Forest have a number 1. As well the dark forest broadheads need a good deal of sharpening. In the image the Montec G5 is the top while the Dark Forest is below it. The one on the top costs about $13 a broadhead while the bottom is $3 a broadhead and some time with a sharpener.

These broad heads are great for rabbits. For larger game you need heavier broad heads. Or at least a 100 gr. Insert plus the broad head. Also they are not sharp when they are shipped and very hard to sharpen.

Could be sharper

I shouldn’t have expected too much for the price but these were worse than expected. They were very inconsistent. It seems like they were not all ground/ sharpened uniformly which meant that I had a spread of about 10 grains from the lightest to the heaviest in the pack. Inconsistent arrow weights are horrible for accuracy. The broad heads were also extremely dull out of the package. I spent some time trying to sharpen them but never got to a level I was comfortable hunting with. I ultimately bought different heads to hunt with. Maybe I will use the on rabbits or something but definitely not elk.

Work very well! Definitely worth buying a sharpener to be sure they are sharp. Got them Friday, took down a deer with one the next day

They fit my arrows fine and took a pig down. Great value, good product
