Engaging the Concert Audience: A Musician's Guide to Interactive Performance Book/Online Media Paperback – August 1, 2018

This is a good book. It will be useful to anyone presenting concerts. It’s not all brilliant, but there is nothing stupid here. It is not a bunch of gimmicks, but principles and examples. I’m glad that I read it.

Too many artists go out into the working world unprepared to engage their audiences. This book gives performers so many things that schools of music do not. Wallace provides a fun to read and easy-to-begin-implementing HOW TO book. I've been a gigging musician for 40 years, in venues humble and exalted, and all the ideas here ring true. If musicians would just read the "Avoiding Ten Common Pitfalls" chapter all by itself, that'd be a big change out in the world, and more folks would enjoy attending many more concerts.
