Great case with lots of space
This case is brilliant. It holds my two 1U units perfectly and protects them well. It's also deep enough (and my units shallow enough) that I can store supplies in the case behind the units, and that doesn't count the storage from the pocket. It's not the lightest case in the world, but there's no doubt that it's very study for a soft-sided case. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs a 2U case, and I will likely buy one or two more in the future.

It'a good
yup. works great. light weight, room for airflow, good pockets for cables and whatnot. i use it for an Axe FX II. space is good for this application and there's some rigid support out front so the knobs don't get mashed when you set it on it's face to wire up. shoulder strap position is clever and makes it lay flat against your hip or back lefty or righty so you can also carry your other junk. I show up with a backpack, this, and a gig bag. one trip. I've been through 5 rack cases now. this is the best one i've tried for what i do with it.

Stronger than I thought it'd be.
This is an excellent soft case. It has inner panels (don't know if it is wood or plastic) that make it very sturdy. Should be good enough for anything but extreme abuse. I also like the fact that is has a bit of extra space both above and below, which lets the air flow helping keep your equipment cooler. I use it for a Fractal Audio Axe FX and it fits perfectly, with enough room in the back to store the ac plug. Plus the roomy zippered pocket holds extra cables. For the price I think this is a great buy.

GREAT rack!!!
this is a GREAT rack bag... The material is like my Rocky boots material... seems super tough. as for heat issues that others have said, I use mine for cordless mics so it is no problem, but, all of my amps have through flow fans so it would not be a problem. I am getting 4 more for my amps and other gear. You will LOVE this.

Good case for an automixer
Got a secondhand automixer and industrial power strip I was able to mount inside this bag/case. It's worked great so far.

Good choice for mobile recording rig, wireless, effects, etc.
So far so good. Does what I wanted it to do. I use this to care my A/D interfaces for mobile recording with my laptop. Got a MOTU 828MkII and a Beringer ADA8000 in it.A nice touch for me: there is enough clearance with two 1U units to route 1/4" cables either above or below the units. That's a plus because I often need to get a 1/4" patch cable from the back of the unit to the front, route a firewire cable out the front, etc. XLRs however will not fit through that gap. I suppose that allows some airflow too for cooling. With both of those units it is still deep enough I can still leave patch cables coiled up in the back along with a small powerstrip. Don't expect to put something like an amp in this. It is deeper than a 2u effect rack hard case but not deep enough for amps nor would you want to. This is not an amp case. Use a heavier duty rack for a big heavy amp. For outboard effects gear, wireless, A/D interfaces etc. its just fine. The outside pocket is big enough to hold my 2 10' DB25 to TRS 8ch snakes that hook the A/Ds to my console. You could get a 50' extension cord in there along with some microphone cables. It's pretty big. There is no padding in the outside pouch. Both lids fold under the unit and it sits on them. They are not detachable. At first I thought I'd not like that but I'm finding it is not an issue. The front one has velcro to hold it when folded under. When closed up that velcro on the bottom of the case can find other things to stick to (it likes my berber carpet floor ;)One small negative I found in my setup: The front lid is pretty tight against the gear when closed. That means I cannot leave 1/4" patch cables routed from the back and plugged in the front. That may not bother other folks but just so you know. The lid on my SKB hard case allowed for leaving patch cables plugged in the front. This does not.The pouch in the front lid is clearly designed to hold your wireless antennas if you're putting receivers in this. They would work well for that. Anything you have in that pouch you want out before you fold it under and set the case down on it.Construction seems good. Wood inside the heavy duty cordura fabric. If you bang this around a lot the corners are probably going to wear over time but I like my gear so I avoid that. Normal sliding this in and out of a car or trunk etc. should be fine. It seems like pretty tough fabric. Straps and connectors seem ok. I don't know if I'd try to put any more weight in it than I have with my gear and cables packed in it. It's pretty heavy on my shoulder as is and I'm just a little concerned what would happen if one of those shoulder strap swivel connectors gave way. It is handy to have the shoulder strap when going mobile though and I can carry this along with my recording laptop, bag with hard drives, cables etc, into a show all at once. That was my goal and it fulfills it.There is no shock protection in this thing but that's about the same as any other compact rack 2-space rack. I'm not going to test this but I suspect the wood would not fare as well as the plastic on a SKB if dropped from a substantial height. I am careful with my gear and knew that with a compact rack so I don't count that a negative. It looks good sitting on top of a 6-space SKB next to the console at a show. Doesn't overhang a lot or look out of place. It is a minor thing but I don't want the booth to look like a mess.Bottom line is I would buy this again and recommend it. Good value for the money. Functional mobile rack. Four stars from me only because I'd like a little more clearance on the front lid from the equipment. Otherwise it's fine.
