Tree-mendous!
Okay, let me start out by saying that this thing is HUGE. Just like some of the other reviewers, even though I measured and knew the size, it seems much bigger than expected. This condo/gym comes in two separate packages. Both boxes were well-packed and undamaged. I should also note that although I purchased this item through Amazon, it is actually shipped and sold from Wayfair. It was scheduled to be delivered by the 13th of August, but it arrived five days early, which was nice. Now on to the condo: there are a lot of parts to this and it seems a little overwhelming at first, but if you take the time to separate the pieces out and do the inventory to make sure everything is there, it helps out a LOT. The instructions aren't very in-depth, to say the least, but they're not that hard to decipher either. Once you have the parts identified you should have no problems understanding what goes where. After the steps from figure 1 are completed, you can see how it's going to come together. I didn't even refer to the instructions after finishing part of the steps from figure 2. It's actually pretty self-explanatory if you keep referring to the picture of the finished product. You can actually complete assembly with the combination hex tool/phillips-head screwdriver that comes with the kit, but it's a little easier to use an actual screwdriver for the bolts that need the phillips-head tip.I know one or more of the reviews had issues with damaged parts, but I did not have that experience. Everything was in very good condition, and no parts/screws were missing. All in all, it took me about two hours by myself to unpackage and assemble the whole thing. I like to think I'm not an idiot, but I'm no genius either, and this really went together pretty easily for me.I will say that this is not as sturdy as the cat condos you see built from heavy 2x4's and covered with carpet (it doesn't weigh as much either, thankfully). To be honest, you don't need anything THAT sturdy. Unless you're going to be climbing on it yourself, this will be plenty sturdy enough for your cat(s), as long as they don't weigh more than 50 pounds. I actually found it sturdy enough that I didn't think the tension rod-like posts that push up against the ceiling were even necessary, although it is nice to have the extra stability. Some have noted that the hammocks and tunnels aren't big enough for their cats. I can see that with the tunnels to a degree, but for the most part everything should be big enough. You have to take into consideration that most cats like to curl up inside of things as opposed to spreading out, but I guess that would depend on your specific cat's likes/dislikes.I can't really think of anything else to add at this point other than this thing makes me wish I was a cat! There are sisal rope posts, hammocks, tunnels, platforms, and ladders everywhere you look, in addition to two very spacious condos! Most cats would go nuts for this; I'm very impressed with it. When you consider that most stores sell trees/condos that are less than a third of the size of this for a lot more money, you really can't beat the value. This is almost overkill if you only have one cat, unless you just want to spoil him/her, and it would probably accomodate up to half a dozen cats easily...it's that big! I would definitely recommend this if you have the room for it.

Easy - ish
This was so easy my 16 yr old put the majority of it together by herself. The only bad part was u have no labels so it was a little difficult but I helped her fix it. The hardest part of putting this together was the cats trying to play on it while we worked. If anything happens I will update but so far it's great.

Nice tree with one big flaw and one notable small flaw
Pros:Size is great.Symmetry is visually appealing.Mixed:Fairly stable (no worries that the cats will cause it to tip over). The small flaw I refer to in the title is that, while the ceiling braces do help, the wing-nut method of bracing the thin threaded rod to the ceiling doesn't feel as stable as I would like it and it's quite a pain to get good tension there.Material build quality is 8/10, there were some portions of the fluffy carpet-like material which weren't properly glued to the board, but giving attention to those pieces during assembly prevented any problems. The pet steps weren't pre assembled and the instructions didn't include them. It wasn't hard to figure it out, but the lack of instructions on any part might be annoying to other buyers. There were some parts of the instructions which didn't seem to convey the exact necessities of assembly, but by referencing the pictures in the Amazon product listing, I was able to figure those parts out as well. The little hammock is cute, but it falls off (or is easily knocked off) the included hangers. The hangers do not lock in place, and if you screw them in very far, they simply poke through the fluffy carpet like material on the top, so you're stuck with it working this way unless you go hit the hardware store and DIY something that anchors in place a bit better.Cons:There is only one big negative to this specific tree. That is, the top half of the tree has no real path to it from the bottom half of the tree. Basically, once a cat gets up to the point of being on top of one of the boxes on either side, there isn't much stepping room to get to the middle platform because the pet steps are in the way. My cats are young and thin, and being cats they have the natural dexterity and balance to help, but I can't imagine a bigger or older cat having an easy time with this. What we did, was assemble the tree in front of a window, and the window sill adds some extra stepping room for their trip to the top half of the tree.A smaller negative, and one that I don't exactly blame the manufacturer for, is the "fluffy carpet like material". I have noticed that most, if not all, manufactures of these modern trees use this type of material, but I do wish there were an option for a more durable (closer to real carpet) material, and I would have gladly paid a bit more for such an option. My cats aren't particularly rough with these portions of the tree so far, so it probably won't see substantial wear, but I don't expect all cats to behave the same and I'm near certain that if I were to have cats that decided to bite or scratch these surfaces, that those surfaces wouldn't last long.Other thoughts:My cats really really love the 2 cloth bottom "baskets" near the top. They have a few favorite sleeping locations throughout the house, but these baskets are clearly both of their first favorite. My cats don't care for the "cat boxes" or the circle things. I can't understand why they don't like the box parts, but I'm pretty sure they don't like the circle parts because the position and orientation kind of traps them. Not in a way that makes it impossible to get back out, but in a way that getting out takes more work than they really want to do for fun or relaxation.Only 1 of my 2 cats will use the sisal posts as scratching posts, and even then only sometimes. I think this has to do with how short the posts are which prevents the cat from being able to fully extend their bodies while scratching. This is probably a common problem on cat trees, and buying a separate "tall" scratch post seems to have made them both happy.

Amazing product and company is very responsive and helpful with issues!
I was originally sent two of the same box, so I was missing a lot of pieces, but I emailed them and they very quickly and promptly sent me the proper pieces as quickly as possible. When it arrived properly my cats absolutely loved it once I got it fully assembled. I would say it's alittle complicated to assemble but it is well worth the effort, very sturdy and maximum fun for your kitty cats
