God He The Girl Soundtrack

If you're a fan of the movie, then this soundtrack is an excellent way to relive it, thanks to well-placed and well-selected sound bites from the film. While not as sonically satisfying as the original album, mainly due to Hannah Murray's voice, which is flat and nasally. However, the other two main characters have fine voices, especially Emily Browning. There are several new songs in this collection, and Belle & Sebastian fans will be thrilled by an exquisite instrumental by Stuart Murdoch and Isobel Campbell. Another song, "I'm Not Rich," is not used in the movie, but allows for a much better understanding of it. If you liked the movie - and I place it with the best of the rock-oriented movies ever, such as A Hard Day's Night and Rock 'N' Roll High School - then you won't be disappointed in this charming and entertaining soundtrack.

Some soundtracks can be listened to - and enjoyed - separate from the viewing of the movie. This is not one of them. So take the time to enjoy the rather esoteric movie & then pick up the soundtrack to remind you of the movie. Watch which one you download - one has more songs.

Unexpectedly enjoyable, uplifting music. This album makes you want to see the movie, which has never been available commercially in any format. You will have to enjoy these two lovely women (sorry, fella!) on the album cover and only guess at their performance in the movie! This is pop music that is very easy to take!

fell instantly in love w/ the soundtrack after seeing the movie, so much so that it was only a matter of time before i added it to my vinyl collection. digital download code is also nice bonus!

God Help the Girl soundtrack has all 28 tracks and complete song with lyrics. I loved it so much, I played it continuously for 2 weeks while in the car.

Love the songs!! Just that one of the songs on my fourth side was a little bit distorted.

This has quickly become my favorite film and album of the year. Stuart, you better be planning more films!

Great soundtrack from a great movie. Love the extra bits and all the scores!

Buy the original audio CD first (with the sublime voice of Catherine Ireton), then the wonderful film DVD, then this (the soundtrack of the film - clear?). It's pleasant and fun and the actors perform a good rendition of the songs, with the sole exception of the screech of poor Hannah Murray on "If You Could Speak" - I can't bear to listen to it!!By the way there are a lot of tracks (28) so it's rather irritating that the CD doesn't seem to have CD-Text enabled on it - so the titles don't show up on my car CD player for example.
