The exact commuter/hybrid that I had been looking for.
I have been looking for a bike with the following specs for a lonnnnggg time:1. Steel Cro-Moly Frame/Fork2. Quill stem3. 7-speed hub gear4. Stays that would accept 30-32mm tires.5. Aluminum rimsNo way could I have built such a bike for the price I paid for this one. Frame looks to be well-made and the wheels were nice and true out of the box. I took off the fenders, put on a Brooks B-17 saddle and some BMX grips, and some decent old-school touring pedals. Nothing wrong with the tires, they are actually quite good for this price point, but I wanted a little beefier cross tire so I put on a nice set of Schwalbe CX Comps. The result is a fantastic commuter hybrid for a fraction of what I was actually prepared to spend. Steel where you want steel, aluminum where you want aluminum. The thing rides great. I have several bikes that I have spent a LOT more money on, but this is my new all-around favorite. I am very, very pleased.
