Although the unit works well enough to be worth the price, the one I got only operates at two speeds, 45 and 33 1/3 RPM. I decided not to send it back because, as I said, it was worth the price. The only other drawback is that unless you have speakers with RCA plugs handy, you can't monitor the turntable until you actually start converting the music to digital files. The included software allows for easy editing, so converting a little over the amount you want and then cutting it is not a problem, still using speakers would be easier if you have them. There are actually many things you can do with the software, such as muffeling the clicks and pops found on vinyl. I don't know why they call it a three speed turntable, but if you have, as I do, some ancient 78 RPM records, I would recommend going to a more expensive model, probably from a more trustworthy company, to be sure you get what you want.

No good for playing records
Summary: Piece of crap, don't buy it.You will spend way more time figuring out how this works than the $15 extra which will buy you a decent converter or a record player. This thing is supposed to convert records to digital format and play the records. Based on other reviews it looked like the conversion part was complicated but I only needed a record player so I took a chance on this. However, it can't do that well either.1. Just playing the record through its internal speakers is no good since the volume is very low (lower than my cell phone's speaker!)2. I just could not get it to play the music through my speakers or my headphones. I tried a couple of things like connecting it to a computer and putting it in "recording mode" just to see whether it would start putting out sound to the speaker but that did not work either.I would rate it as 1 but since record playing is its secondary function, rating it as 2. I did not try the conversion function at all.

The media could not be loaded.

PERFECT FOR THE PRICE
I noticed majority of reviews were pretty negative. For the $30 I payed including shipping, this is a great vinyl ripper. The only downside to this product is the internal speakers. You will barely hear anything but who cares? With that extra $30 you saved, go buy some okay speakers and you'll be fine. Also, since it's USB and can connect to both pc/mac, I can play through my macbook's speakers which sounds great or even better, my headphones. If you don't have much money, I suggest picking this up.

poor quality toy
It's getting more and more difficult to get a decent turntable.I threw no telling how many BSR's away. They were cheap and plentiful. Now I really miss them. There are many of these USB turntables out there, how do you choose one?Having said that I bought this Vibe. The description said it worked with a pc or as a standalone.Thats not true.In order to be a standalone it needs to be powered by house current. It isn't,it is USB powered like all the other cheapies. It came with 3 needles, one loaded and 2 spares. But they are all a piece of plastic with a speck of sand or diamond dust glued on haphazardly. They just don't sit down in the record groove correctly. They can't reproduce sound clearly. This phono is useless.Pros:It didn't cost much.Cons:It wasn't worth what it cost.It was delivered quickly!Yippee.

Ok
I purchased this for my father for Christmas the stand for the cover broke the first time I opened it it works fine but you would probably need a speaker to hear the music from records clearer overall its ok

OK for the money
This sets up easily and does a solid/good capture of the music. It isn't exactly sturdy but that is the bargain element but it can mean its a little susceptible to vibration. So be careful when recording.
