The PTO arrived well-packed, unblemished. The build quality appears to be as good or better than the John Deere supplied PTO. Hard to tell what the internals look like but I suspect they're good. They note that several items, such as bearings, are upgraded over typical OEM PTOs. You could slap your new PTO right in - mine was a perfect fit - but Xtreme apparently knows from experience that things can go wrong that can make installation difficult and can make your new PTO clutch fail without it being Xtreme''s fault. To help alleviate this (and to save you money because they aren't going to give you a refund because you got in a hurry), they have a series of videos that cover troubleshooting, installation, and break-in. All of the videos are well-done and educational in ways that extend beyond just the PTO. Yeah, you're supposed to torque the clutch to a certain amount of foot pounds. They tell you why. They tell you why a charging system problem and a subsequent weak battery can fry your PTO. And other items as well. And then there is the cost. The Xtreme PTO wasn't 50% of the cost of the John Deere part but it was close. The original PTO - on a John Deere x300 - lasted three seasons - bad bearing. I'm hoping this one does as well or better.,

In just removing the unit from the box it is apparent that this is a quality item, machining was excellent. Installed very easily, more than I can say for the removal of the old clutch which finally came off in three pieces. Seems to run much quieter and stops more quickly when disengaged. I highly recommend these clutches over oem.

Does what it says, perfect fit on John Deere X324. A little pricey though. BTW: Stop all the power-washing, it cuts the grease out of the bearings and that's why these fail prematurely. If your tractor makes a terrible screech which goes away when PTO clutch is engaged...then this is the part needed. I rebuild old cars and trucks. Installation difficulty about 3:10 for me. Take to dealer if you are weak mechanically. And you need real tools... not a job for the vise-grips.

I ended up ordering this after trying to fix the old clutch on my 2008 JD X300. I wish I had just bought this from the start. Install was Xtreme-ly easy lol - and it works very well. The clutch engages more quickly and firmly than the JD clutch ever did. Great upgrade for a cheap price.

I saved more buying this over OEM, that I paid someone else to put it in and still saved money! Some people says it works better, but I wouldn't know how to tell. Maybe on how long it lasts vs OEM? But it has worked fine for me.
