The primary use of scissors with a serrated edge like these is in dress-making, to "pink" the edges of fabric in order to prevent fraying without making the extra effort to create a hem. Sometimes "pinking shears" may also be used for crafts or by children to give a decorative edge to paper. These scissors would be useless for either application, and I can't think what other use they could have. The edges are in a gentle wave pattern instead of having sharply jagged teeth. Of course they won't cut straight either. What can the designers / manufacturers have been thinking?
