I love these Barebones lanterns. They've helped us function through many Maine storms and power outages. They last for hours before needing a recharge. They're sturday and also charming in a very campy sort of way.

I stayed at a campsite that used these for interior lights. I was there for a week and these lights performed superbly. They cast a light that illuminated the entire tent suite. The variable light control allowed you to take a late night walk to the head without waking the others in the tent. I didn't have to charge it for the entire week. Fantastic

I'm using the Forest Lantern as a decorative hanging lantern because it has a real old fashioned look yet has modern electronics and will be great to just look at and a trusty LED lantern in case of a power outage. Love the way that the light shows through the glass onto the wall with adjustable brightness and on full brightness lights a small room reasonably well and great for camping too' Some people may prefer a bit warmer tone of light, but I really find it quite acceptable and recommend this lantern to anyone looking for a lantern with that old time feeling design'

I had two of these before and loved them, but had to get rid of them after a fire. I wanted to just replace them, and I love the new colors. But some unfortunate design changes make these not as nice as they used to be. For one, the On button now presses in instead of turns and clicks. This doesn't sound like a big deal, but it means you have to either use two hands to turn it on, or brace against the push by grabbing the cage of the lantern, which is just unnecessary. And the button now just spins arbitrarily instead of having distinct clicks that increase the brightness in increments like it used to. Why? Just a pointless change that makes it feel cheap. Also, the inside part that lights up is now frosted, rather than clear on the outside and frosted on the inside. It just doesn't look as nice - a little cheesy. Then the charging port no longer has a plug-in cover, so dirt can easily get inside, and it no longer comes with an attached charging cable - you have to use your own. I still like it - because it has a nice wide, stable base, a handle that makes it easy for kids (and adults) to carry, and the cage around the light protects it nicely. Overall it looks good and has a really nice feel to it, and it works well. I just wish Barebones had left it as it was without messing with the design - pointless "improvements" that don't improve.

Impressive power ‘& functions. It will be interesting to see how long the charge lasts.

Purchased this lantern to use in my 59 canned ham travel trailer. A little look of nostalgia with modern tech. It has a push on and off button, and same button twists for brightness. I wouldn't say this is going to useful for night hikes, but it will be handy outside at night or if we need a bit of light in the camper and don't want the super bright lights. It is going to be great on the outside table! Took me a hot minute to figure out the on/off and brightness, I decided it has a tiny bit of delay in the change, but now that I know, it is no big deal. Seems well made and like it should hold up. Time will tell.

We bought one of these lamps for our off grid cabin and it is beautiful! We have since added two more in different colors. Each has it's own cast iron hook and lights up a corner of the cabin. Thank you Barebones!

We bought two of these and were a little hesitant if they would hold their charge long enough or if they would be something that just cluttered the travel trailer-- we are super happy with them! Perfect for power outages and camping. Also love the case to store the lantern in. Other campers have commented on them and asked about the brand. We are very pleased with this product!

Attractice addition to home decor, useful in a power cut and a great lantern for camping. One charge lasts quite a long time and the brighness is adjustable. You can placew on a table or hangit up.

I purchased this portable lantern to replace my Coleman rechargeable lantern which no longer held a charge. I purchased this one as I have the Barebones Beacon which is an amazing light for inside and outside the tent. I only wish that the Living Forest Lantern was open at the bottom so that it would give the same about of light as the Beacon. An example of this would be when cooking over the fire pit in the dark and having the Forest Lantern raised on a cooler or holding it over the fire pit to view what you were cooking was hard to see even at the brightest setting. If the bottom was removed and or resembled that Beacon design, it would be a great lantern. I switched over to my Beacon Lantern and boy was this night or day, the Beacon Lantern was much better. Other than that, the build quality and look is amazing. Can't wait to keep using the Lantern on future trips again.
