Work really well. Makes clean plugs. First one I made I didn't make the plug tall enough so it didn't have enough taper to fit easily in the hole. Cut another a little deeper and perfect. Excellent quality.

Worked very well cutting discs out of thin plywood.

the strait bits work fine, however we found that the tapered plugs stick in the bit. had to pry them out with an awl. Also the tapered don't seem sized accurately 3/8" plug was too big for 3/8" hole drilled with fostrner bit

Dissatisfied with these and paid extra thinking I was paying more for better quality. These blackened from over heating on the first use.

This kit comes with two sets of cutters, 4 tapered and 4 straight. I found that the straight cutters are not sharpened at all. There is a prominent and obvious burr on the edge of each. The plugs that I cut with the 1/4" straight cutter (from soft maple and walnut using a drill press) were not smooth or even on the sides at all. Furthermore, the plugs were significantly smaller than a 1/4" drill hole and did not fit snugly at all, and easily fell out.I then tried to sharpen with a tiny diamond file used for rounding the ends of guitar frets. I removed the burr and it cut slightly better, but the plug was still loose in a 1/4" hole.The 1/4" tapered plug cutter cut a plug with significantly smoother sides and fit quite snugly in the 1/4" hole - to be honest a little too tight of a fit, but usable. So in conclusion, the tapered cutters in my set are useful, but I'm not optimistic about ever using the straight cutters.

I cut a few sample plugs in a couple of different woods and they seemed to do a good job of creating a plug for filling a whole.I think these will do what I need.
