Not much to say - it worked
It’s a toilet stopper. If it doesn’t leak then it doing its job. Worked well.

Simple replacement, great quality!
The unit is made of high quality plastic, strong and sturdy. It was not easy to install due to the plastic being rigid, but once you understand it you can figure it out. Considering the quality, I consider the price to be fair. The unit covers the hole perfectly avoiding any watter to leak. However, initially the unit was not functioning correctly (it stayed stuck in the up position), but could not figure out why, in the end I decided to lightly sand the mounting hooks to release a little bit the resistance (these are preassure fit in) and it works perfectly

Perfect Fit!
For months now, I've been on the hunt for the right flapper. I have a Vitra toilet. I tried Fluidmaster (recommended by Vitra as my toilet model has been discontinued therefore no more parts for the toilet), Korky, and a few others in hopes of finding just one flapper that would work for my toilet. None of them worked and I tried at least 5 and all of them were more expensive than this flapper. One Fluidmaster cost almost 3X the price of this flapper and still allowed my toilet to leak or not flush properly:-/ I ended up using the original flapper since it was better than all the other ones I bought. However, the constant running and disengaging of the flapper upon flushing the toilet led to the daily removal of the toilet tank cover and the repeated adjustment of the dysfunctional original flapper. I was about to pull my hair out always having to stick my hand in the toilet tank and adjust the flapper just so I can flush the toilet. I'm always on Amazon and not sure how I missed this flapper but decided to go one more time on the site to look for one that looked like mine. Lo and behold I found it! Although it's for American Standard toilets this flapper was the exact fit for my Vitra toilet and looked pretty much like the original flapper that came with the Vitra toilet. Now there's no more running toilet and the toilet flushes as it used to before things went south. I'm over the moon! Can't believe how happy I am about this. Because I've been so disappointed by the other dud flappers I also ordered a couple more along with this American Standard flapper. Needless to say the others have been sent back. If you're in need of a flapper and it looks similar to this don't hesitate to buy it. It just might be exactly what you need and at this price this flapper can't be beat. Thanks again Amazon!!!

Original Replacement or Custom Made ?
My original only lasted about 1.5 years. But I do use a (chemical) bleach tablet from Clorox, which warped the original black rubber gasket ever so slightly, just enough to give me a slow leak. I agree with the other reviewer; kind of. About the Box store wants to sell you some Generic for about $10 more than this deal. [I got mine here for $5.15 w/s&h 9/2011] But, if you have some customizing abilities about you. You can replace just the gasket of the flapper just by buying a flat sheet of 6"x6" 1/8" thick. "Plumb Pak Rubber Washer" Item #: 31448 Model #: PP25547 right at lowes for $1.38. (it's red clay color) Which is what I did before I ordered these much more easy, streamlined, replacements. [Even Amazon sells them, but for more $. Rubber Packing Sheets, 6" x 6" Red But it doesn't state if it's 1/8" thick. you do not want 1/16" thick] These make your own gaskets, aren't anywhere near as cheaply made as the originals, or the replacements. Which is the first thing I noticed. [How to] That gasket slides out from under that center plastic piece, the original gasket looks just like a flat donut. Then you just use that as a pattern to draw out on the new gasket sheet. I simply used a pair of scissors and carefully cut out the new gasket. (just like it was arts & crafts). Slide it over, and back under the plastic center, which requires a bit of effort sliding it back and forth till you get it under.. But the trick is to get one side at a time slide under. Not a women's job for sure. (I don't mean that offensively) Just as you did when you pulled it out from under in the beginning. Only in reverse. Don't even think of using a screwdriver, you might crack the plastic, and it's really not needed. Remember, it's a tight fit so you don't have a leak. I still have the heavy duty custom made gasket installed. [8 months now] I'm betting it will last about 3-4 years. [even with chemicals] (I'll update this later in time if I'm wrong) I didn't do all this to just save $3. I'm looking at the longevity of not performing any part of this task. Either with this replacement sold here or the custom gasket. But hay, I ordered this because if I get in a jam with a leak, I'm not pressed for immediate attention and water is not being wasted. I can just use this new replacement till I grab a new heavy duty gasket sheet from lowes. Made in America,. Built in America,.. You know it's gonna last longer.

NOT “standard”
The arms are too wide to connect to the valve. I fist had to Find a 3” American Standard flapper because the “universal” flappers you can pick up conveniently at any hardware store are too small for the AS assembly. I was so relieved when I saw the 3” AS flapper and ordered it and it fit the hole… but then, after managing to get the old flapper off, I found out that the original AS flapper has arms that are 2 1/2 “ wide, while the new one’s arms are 2 3/4”. I am at a loss here as it is literally the correct part #. It appears there is no way to get an AS flapper to fit my AS assembly 😭 I made a work-around by removing and swapping the rubber rings. The new ring in no quite as wide as the original but it is functional for now. I guess I have to replace the entire valve assembly and flapper in order to fix it properly due to AS changing their design. I can tell you I won’t buy another toilet from American Standard. I will be looking at the flapper and stem assembly to make things easier the next time I have to replace the flapper 🤦🏼♂️

Seems like good quality, works fine, good price.
Seems like good quality, works fine. Snapped easy onto the flush valve body after removing the old flapper. It is a hard plastic body with a softer silicone type material for the actual seal. I have installed hundreds of flappers and have learned to avoid the all vinyl types for 3" flappers because the pressure of the water tends to distort them over time making them sag in the center and leak water down the drain.. This came in its own small box like the you would purchase at a supply house. It is an American Standard part but should fit any tiolet that uses a 3" flapper and has the little "ears" on the flush valve. Good price for an OEM part.
