The Last Christmas Tree

I didn't care for most of the story. I don't know what child(or adult) wants to read sad for 4/5 of a book. The ending was nice ,but the journey through the book is always seeing the little tree in a sad situation.

I love this story about a Christmas tree waiting in the lot while the others are picked until someone absolutely perfect for the story picks it up and takes it home. Fabulous ending, colorful pictures. Had to buy a copy!

Cute story to read to 4-6 year old crowd. Good illustrations.

I think this didn't live up to its hype and the review I read but I didn't get a chance to read it to my grandson; he might have felt differently.

Sweet story

I adore this book. It will be a Christmas classic for years to come. It's about a puny Christmas tree that doesn't get purchased from the tree lot. It's very sweet!

I haven't opened it yet because I want to enjoy it during Christmas time but the front cover is beautiful as well as the drawings on the first page. I love Pascal Campion's art so I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. Something tells me the story is touching. I'm very happy with my purchase!

米amazonのレビューを見て、買うかどうか迷ったのですが、言われているほど悪くなかったです、絵も綺麗だし良い本でした。　ストーリーはとてもシンプル。小さく、枝ぶりも悪いクリスマスツリーが誰からも買ってもらえず、売れ残って意識も遠のいていくけれど、最後に居場所を見つけるお話です。クリスマスの絵本といえば、迷子の子猫が最後に居場所を見つけるお話がよくありますが、それに似たパターンのお話と思っていただければ。売れ残っていく過程がちょっと可哀想かな。　ツリーが売れ残るお話は他の絵本でも度々見かけますが、これは、クリスマスが近づくと植木屋さんが生木を伐ってきて一斉に売り出す欧米ならではのお話ですね。伐ってしまったのに売れ残ったら本当に可哀想ですものね・・。「なにも伐り倒さなくても、鉢植えじゃダメなの？」と思ってしまう日本人には、ちょっとだけ馴染みにくいかもです。
