Very good product!
Read my review below, but just want to add an update...today I see many striped cucumber beetles. Some walked right over my sticky yellow boards. My advice is to put the tangefoot on a little thick. You can catch them and squeeze them. They fly so they are perfectly mobile. I also tried spraying them with Fels Naptha soap diluted with water. That didn't slow them down...I actually think they liked it. Now it's all out war!!!I found this to be a perfect weapon to kill Cucumber Beetles. This will be my third and last year planting cukes if my plants dry up and and die once again due to the powdery mildew inflicted by Cucumber Beetles.I have seen a lot of bugs get stuck, but have yet to see a cucumber beetle. I still have something eating away at the leaves and little black eggs on the underside of my beans, but lot's of insects get stuck on the stuff. Yellow seems to attract a multitude of bugs. I am using all kinds of yellow, waterproof materials such as rubber gloves, detergent bottles, and the styrofoam backing to meats. If my local market had yellow drinking cups, I'd use them too. Tanglefoot is sticky and lasts through downpours.I haven't caught a lot of beneficial bugs, so I'm not concerned. I also purchased some clover oil which I put on a spot of cotton and stuck it to my lure. It's suppose to attract the female cucumber beetles. I'm spraying any eggs I see with soapy water. The first step I took this year was to purchase disease resistant cucumbers from the Sustainable Seed Company. I also covered the ground with black plastic and cut small holes in which I planted the seeds.Tanglefoot is not difficult to use, just don't paint it on your hands. I use butter if I get it on my hands and it comes off like tree pitch. As other reviewers said, brush doesn't reach bottom...no big deal. Get a longer brush. If this doesn't work, I'll be buying my cukes from a farm stand. My only con is that shipping costs as much as the product...really?

Outstanding Product, Handy Brush, and Oh So Sticky
I use this to trap deerflies, which are a nuisance in our state during the summer. No, not a nuisance, they are a terror! No need to buy special deerfly traps, this stuff works wonders. It remains sticky for weeks, months, even after the rain soaks it time and time again. But this means dust and pollen will also stick to it, so eventually it will lose the surface area that the stickiness has. This particular coating has minimal odor compared to others that I have used, and I am sensitive to smells. Yes, it still has some, but not nearly as strong as others. (I made the mistake once and got some other stuff that made turpentine smell nice by comparison!) It is incredibly sticky, so I always wear disposable gloves when I use it. Inevitably some gets on the side because I am not patient, and it slops around when I pull the handy brush out. So, the sides are sticky - hence, the gloves are really necessary.Back to the deerflies, they are attracted to the color royal blue and to motion. I "paint" a large royal blue plastic bowl on the outside which is glued from the inside to wood pole. I then carry the bowl around on the pole just above my head, walk around my yard, and the deerflies swarm around the bowl immediately. Then they get stuck! I'll sometimes take a twig to push 'em in to make sure they're in the sticky goo nice and firm.I'm on my third jar of this stuff. I swear by it.

It works very well. It's not an attractant. Use it correctly and you'll love it.
Works great for catching horse and deer flies. Here's the key: It's not an attractant. If you're out on horse/deer flies, read up on them and you'll find they're ambush predators. You'll have your best results taking that into account. Motion is key for the best results. This isn't a pheromone attractant that sticks the pest species to it; you need to use it correctly or you're going to be whining about it not working like some of the negative reviews. Read up on the color blue, cups, etc., and then slather your choice down with this stuff, being careful not to get it on yourself because it is incredibly sticky. I use translucent blue solo-style cups slathered with this, held by small contraptions I made to fit (they're removable) on my truck, and have had amazing results. I mean that literally. I guessed I would collect maybe 30 flies in a day on a gravel road that was particularly bad. A few hours and over 200 flies later, I was absolutely amazed. Occasionally you'll see a fly that only grazes the sticky slathering, and as a result gets partly away (partly because falling off the cup usually means being stuck to the ground), but they usually commit fully, and are there to stay. I paid full price with my own money. I write that because there are far too many paid reviews on here these days. I just wish I would have picked this up and done my research sooner, because stepping out of a vehicle only to be swarmed by a dozen carnivorous flies is obnoxious.

Works great. I love to see all the yellow flies ...
Works great. I love to see all the yellow flies stuck to the large black ball (bug ball sold here on amazon). I hate the biting insects and this is a great solution to catch many of them. The one thing I will say as a negative is that the brush is not long enough to reach to bottom of the can, So unless you want to dump the stuff on something else you may waste some of the product.I did see a spray version of this and I may try that at some point.Beware, this stuff is INSANELY sticky. I accidentally touched my arm against it and tried rubbing alcohol and rubbing like crazy. It barely touched this stuff. I ended up having to get a shower and use a super aggressive scrub pad meant for tile to finally get it to come off. This isnt a bad thing. Just warning people to be careful.
