Sachtler Ace XL 75mm Fluid Head System with flowtech 75 Carbon Fiber Tripod and Mid-Level Spreader

I haven't even used this thing on a gig yet, but out of the box I can tell it will almost certainly be the best tripod legs I'll ever own. Having every extendable part be controlled by one simple grip instead of two twisty grips, I am able to go from minimum height to maximum height in 5 seconds, instead of 20-30. These legs are the epitome of quality and user-focused design.My only concern is with the head: all the tightening grips are made of plastic. They probably will never break, but for a product like this I would be willing to pay a few extra bucks to have critical pieces like this be made of metal. I've bought cheaper products that make this kind of part out of metal, making me feel better about tightening them thousands of times.

I am a professional TV/commercial director with a background as a feature and reality DP. I purchased a XT3 package last year to dive back into my love of photography but was still relying on an old set of GItzo’s ( that I’ll never part with). I decided this was the year to add another set to the collection and decided on Flowtech. I have shot countless hours on every possible tripod during my career and can honestly say this is the smartest tripod I have ever used. Nothing comes close. In a matter of seconds you can adjust your position and be ready for the next shot. They are lightweight but very sturdy. I decided on the Ace head as I’m shooting on a smaller camera and think that was the right choice, but I’ve heard great things about the 8’s from coworkers as well. If this is in your budget, don’t hesitate, you will be very pleased with your decision. I am.

I bought two. Easy to set up with one lever. Tripod head is smooth and tight. I have 25lb rigs. Handles it fine
