I’m very satisfied with this Intex pool skimmer. For the price, I didn’t expect it to be this effective and well-built — but it truly exceeded my expectations. Installation was easy and straightforward. It connected perfectly to my Intex above-ground pool, and it started working right away. The build quality feels solid, and all parts fit together nicely without any leaks or issues. What I really like is how well it catches leaves, bugs, and debris before they sink to the bottom. The basket is easy to remove and clean, and the adjustable bracket helps keep the skimmer in the right position as the water level changes. After just one day of running, the surface of my pool was noticeably cleaner. This skimmer has already saved me a lot of time and effort — no more manually fishing out floating debris! I recently got myself a new Intex sand filter for my pool, and to complement it, I added the Intex Deluxe Automatic Skimmer. Here's what I've experienced: Pros: Efficient Cleaning: This skimmer does an excellent job of keeping my pool's surface clean. It efficiently removes leaves, debris, and other floating particles, leaving the water looking pristine. Easy Installation: Setting it up was a breeze. It comes with clear instructions, and attaching it to the pool's sidewall was straightforward. Compatibility: It's designed to work seamlessly with Intex pools and filters, ensuring a hassle-free experience. Cons: Regular Cleaning: Like any skimmer, it requires periodic cleaning of the debris basket. However, this is a minor task and part of regular pool maintenance. Cost: While it's not the cheapest skimmer on the market, the convenience and effectiveness make it a worthwhile investment, especially if you value a clean pool. In summary, the Intex Deluxe Wall-Mounted Automatic Skimmer has been a great addition to my pool maintenance routine. It complements my Intex sand filter perfectly and keeps the pool surface looking clean and inviting. It's one of those investments that contribute to my goal of a comfortable retirement by reducing the time and effort needed for pool maintenance.

We have a 18 x 52 Sand Filtered pool and we love it. Only problem is that the pool ships with out any kind of skimming solution or ability to attach a vacuum. Kind of pathetic on Intex seeing they provide a skimmer for all their little pools. Anyway, read some horror stories about people trying different skimmers and not working out. After reading through the reviews for this one I took a chance. Shipped fast and put it together in about 2.31 seconds, fired up the pump and in about 3 hrs our pool surface was silky clean of debris and bugs. Pretty cool. Part of the problem I have is that Intex, in an evil way, have made a larger intake then their small pools ... logically because it uses bigger hoses. That's not the evil part though. The evil part is they've created their own custom threading for the intake that prevents you from screwing any kind of similar size cap/sleeve/adapter on. This makes it difficult to attach a pool vacuum hose or anything else to the intake. So you can monkey around and try to find something that will fit over the intake for your pool hose to attach to or you can buy this skimmer and get a very cheaply made adapter that will help you out. Because of Intex greed and intentional design to make everything about their pools proprietary ... they lose a star ... and I'm sure that reallllly crushes them.

This should be standard equipment on above ground pools. I set up a new above ground pool this year and after about a month I added this skimmer. I was having a vacuum the pool almost daily, due to the bugs and other environmental debris that lands on the water. With this installed a lot of that gets skimmed off the top before it has time to settle onto the bottom of the pool.

I dont typically review a product so quickly - it came a few hours ago and I am impressed! I purchased an Intex Ultraframe 16x48 pool about a month ago. Since then I have converted it to salt and also purchased a cleaning kit and light. It has been a great pool, but I didnt like keeping the surface clean all the time and the nets dont get it all because many of the particles are very tiny. I figured given the low cost of this skimmer I would give it a try. I went outside and within 5 minutes it was skimming away. I stood there in amazement for another 10 minutes as it instantly started pulling off bugs, leaf parts, and that little shiny sludge stuff that can sit on the top. Within that 10 minutes I noticed a significant difference in the appearance of the pool. I had a couple of concerns: 1- Would it reduce my pump flow? I have a 1500 GPH pump and it does not appear it has significantly impacted flow. 2- Some folks said it didnt fit well on an ultraframe pool. Well the bracket appears specifically made for an Ultraframe as it fit the bar perfectly and I dont believe it will come off as others have experienced. Maybe they redesigned the bracket? 3- Kids breaking it. I still have this concern, they like to play a lot! But given the price point, if I had to put a new one in every year it would still be worth it to me. 4- What if my water got low, would it suck air and trash the pump? Nope - it has a pretty ingenious design and you would have to have a major issue for the water level to get too low. Time will tell, but I expect to be very happy with the results of this product.

Pool/Filter: I have a 22' x 52" circular Intex pool with an 2100 GPH Intex sand filter. My pool has one outlet and two inlets to the pump. Skimmer Assembly: Assembly is easy and maybe takes a whole 5 minutes. This skimmer requires it to be hook to one of the inlets, then a plug/cover be applied to the other inlet so that there is enough suction for the skimmer to work. Like others have stated, the way it attaches to the frame/structure seems to be a little off. You have to tighten it a lot to keep it from floating, but the plastic on the arm starts to bend, so be careful. As it sits in the sun, it may become lose and start to float, causing it to come up out of the water and not cause the filter to just suck air instead of water. Skimmer Function: The skimmer keeps the top of the pool really clean. However, because it requires you to attach to one inlet and then plug the other, normal filtration for the pool is disrupted. Maybe i need a higher powered filter, so that i can leave the other inlet to be uncovered and have while the skimmer is attached to the other for this to be effective. I am not sure. Final Comments: This product works well, but buyers must keep an eye on it and pay attention to water levels and that the plastic bolts stay tight. Buyers also must watch the filtration in the rest of the pool, as the skimmer does disrupt normal filtration. I usually use the skimmer for a couple days and then disconnect it so the pool can filter normally for two days and then back. It does become slightly inconvenient.

ATTENTION, READ THIS!! First, Do NOT listen to the reviews that suggest putting something inside the bucket to stop it from floating, DO NOT DO THAT! It is supposed to float!! The blue part floats perfectly just below the surface thereby breaking the water surface tension and creates an impressive cyclone of water flowing into the strainer and allows any debris floating on the surface of the pool to be sucked in with great efficiency. Secondly, some others noted having issues with the bracket not holding firmly. I have not had any similar issue, mine holds firmly with the provided hardware. Oh, I have a 4' x 16' COLEMAN above ground pool with a vinyl side and a metal legs skeleton. That being said, Thirdly, The provided hose and adapter attached to my Coleman equipment without issue. Honestly, I was apprehensive about trying this product because other reviewers were saying theirs didn't fit, etc. etc. I'm VERY HAPPY that I rolled the dice because this is literally the BEST $20 I've spent in the last 3 years!!! I could not be happier with the product and NO, I do not have anything to do with the product and get zero in return for my feedback. I absolutely love having everyone's reviews to go through before I purchase something and am a firm believer in reciprocity. If you're considering an after market skimmer for your above ground pool, I recommend this one and would say the same to everyone I know.
