not a self cleaning unit....
I bought this unit because of the 1. the high capacity... 2. the high wattage UV lamp and... 3. because it was suppose to have a backwash / self cleaning function.... I got two out to three ... it has to be manually disassembled to clean it.... It went back the day it arrived...

This filter is amazing. I have tried several different filtering systems since installing my pond 5 years ago and I have to say with out a doubt this is the best filter I have had. My pond cleaned up in a matter of days and has remained that way! I also cannot say enough of how easy it is to clean the filter system itself, what use to take me hours now just takes less than 5 minutes! I highly recommend this product!

hard to clean, uv quit working
Overall was good for the first summer but difficult to clean. The uv quit working by start of this season.
