AMAZING! A Lifesaver! `
Fifteen years ago, I couldn't imagine that one day I'd be in so much pain that to do something so simple as taking a shower would be nearly impossible for me. I couldn't imagine needing pain killers, muscle relaxers and anti-spasmodics to stand for ten minutes and shower. I couldn't imagine a lot of things, but then I fell off a ladder at work, and let me tell you! All those things I never would have imagined are reality for me. I have a small tub and most shower chairs wouldn't fit into it. I bought 3 of the smaller ones, but none of them worked. One day, last week, I was talking to one of my mother's nurses and she told me about the Drive Medical bath stool. She told me that she has recommended them to other families that she has worked for and they have all been quite happy. Now I have my own, and today, for the first time in years, I didn't have to start taking pills two hours before my shower. I didn't prep my back with Lidocaine patches, I just simply took a shower as if it were any old regular day! The stool was so easy to put together! Even with the loss of stregnth in my arms, I was able to assemble it in all of five minutes. It is very sturdy, and doesn't wobble or move about in the tub. It was comfortable, and I felt safe using it. I highly recommend Drive Medical products. They are very reliable and very affordable. We use several Drive Medical products for my mother who is 92 and wheelchair bound. This shower stool is the best purchase I've made in many long years! Thank you Drive Medical!

Nice product
If you were looking at this stooll you chubby like me. We know that we need sturdy items. This is a great shower stool. Very sturdy and extremely easy to put together compared to the other Drive benches. Everything is snap button and fits perfectly into place. It has a swivel seat which I have not used.Being a large person I was apprehensive about a stool as I never sit on them. That said I tend to avoid sitting on a stool, this is nothing like any stool I have sat on. The highest the seat would go would easily accommodate someone as tall as 6 foot 4. It also goes low enough for a much shorter person. It did not wobble at all and I felt very safe sitting on it. It has a tray underneath to store items but being a large person I was not inclined to lean over to fetch something from the tray so it has gone unused. The base is approximately 15 inches on your floor space which makes it great for a smaller shower or tub. The rubber caps on the bottom are large and stay put. Overall this is a great piece of equipment for those of us that are larger in size.Almost everything I have regarding equipment are Drive products as they have been fantastic.Update: when assembling one of the pins that actually goes into the seat was defective but I felt it shouldn't be a problem because the fit was so snug. My family felt otherwise and insisted that I return it because the possibility that it would fail. Drive makes such a fantastic product that I was surprised there was an issue at all. I will still continue to buy Drive products.

Do NOT recommend!
This looks like a nice stool and feels sturdy, however the bracket that goes between the legs and holds the legs together constantly falls off. It only snaps in with very short clips. Any movement you do to the seat causes the bracket to fall off. Just picking up the seat will cause it to fall off. After it falls off, the whole thing becomes completely unstable. The legs will start to do the "splits." This is extremely dangerous especially for someone who has had a surgery that keeps them from being able to put any weight on a foot, leg or anything else. Once the bracket falls off you either have to get someone else to put the bracket back on while you stand up on ONE leg in the WET shower or get yourself out of the shower and find a way to put it back on yourself. If you tried to finish your shower without the bracket installed you could end up on the shower floor possibly injured. I would not get this until the company finds a better way to keep the bracket attached. The other bad part is the swivel seat. It rides on plastic. The outer edges of the seat get pressed down while you sit on it and this almost makes it impossible to raise up the clip that enables you to rotate. The seat is always locked unless you raise the clip up. The first time I raised the clip up to rotate the seat, the clip completely broke under the seat. Not worth going thru the effort to return it. I do NOT recommend this seat.

Useful, has minor issues
Assembly would have been easy, but one of the wire/springs that keep one of the height buttons pushed out was shoved into the bottom of the hollow leg. I really was afraid I'd have to send it back, but I used my tweezers and managed to pull the wire up and had to mess with it to get it back in place. After 30 minutes, the button finally sprung out of the hole and it is now usable.I like that it is small and light - I can pull it out of the way for the others using the shower who don't need it, and can position it easily for where I do need it. But the swivel seat isn't terribly useful, since it locks into one of 4 spots - and it pinches your bottom in the process, so I end up not bothering to use the swivel feature.I like that it holds large people, as I am one. I can shave my legs and clean my feet - and not fall over from standing too long. Definitely a necessity for the disabled. Feels very secure and well made (except the design of the height buttons!) I still would recommend
