Your browser does not support HTML5 video.  I bought this camera not expecting a huge range of features for the price, however I was quite pleasantly surprised.On the first night I put it out we discovered that we'd got a hedgehog helping out with the slugs and snails. The cat obviously already knew about this but didn't let on.I've got it set up initially so it works as follows;-Motion detected on any of the 3 pir sensors-2x 8MP photos captured (stamped with temperature, date, time, moon phase, battery remaining and camera ID)-1x 15 second video clip recorded.This seems to have worked well so far. Battery life (from 8x alkaline AA's) dropped from 100% to 95% over 24hrs. The IR leds do a decent job of illuminating the area being monitored.Things still to try out;- Timelapse- Sleep (only capture events during specific times each day)- IP rating - the seal on the enclosure looks quite well designed, but time will tell how it stands up to the British weather.First impressions are really good, I'm looking forward to seeing what else I can capture.

I wasn't expecting a great deal from this cheapo trail cam but overall I was pleasantly surprised. I haven't owned a trail cam before so can't compare it to anything but here's what I thought.It's strong points are it's easy to setup and use, weather proof, the 8 AA batteries that it uses seem to last well, the provided strap and mount accessories are useful, the plastic case seems durable and has good connection points for straps and camera mounts. But - the thing that surprised me the most is that trigger capture technology works really well. This trail cam will successfully capture shots of warm blooded animals that cross in front of it. Tested successfully on mice, birds and Cocker Spaniel!The image quality I would rate acceptable bearing in mind you're not paying a lot for this trail cam. During the day, under even light such as a cloudy sky the picture & video quality is pretty good. However, the camera doesn't cope well with unevenly lit scenes. The picture and video quality does get a bit grainy when light levels fall e.g. early morning or evening.Here's a few tips that will help get better images.* Try not to have really bright spots in the scene because if you do it will expose for those leaving the actual subject a bit dark in the final picture.* At the very least try and keep the sky, sun out of the image.* Mount the camera a bit higher than the scene and pointing downward so the bright sky, sun is not in the picture.* Try and keep the main source of light (the sky or sun most likely) generally coming from behind the camera. In other words try not to have your subject backlit or you will lose some detail and contrast.But for the price the picture quality is fine. This trail cam is more about having fun than creating masterpieces.At night when it's PIR sensors sense a warm object passing (an animal) it switches on it's in-built infra red leds which gives the pictures and video a ghostly black and white glow. The infra-red night captured images are pretty impressive. Because the range of the infra-red leds is limited, it works best pointing at an area spanning no more than 2 or 3 metres out. This means any captures will be well lit and also small creatures (mice etc) will be closer to the lens helping them appear larger in the final picture. As a general rule the closer you can get to the subject the more impressive the pictures.So far it's captured night-time pictures of garden mice raiding spilled seeds underneath the bird feeder, lots of garden birds during the day and also a night-time video of the dog investigating it with a big wet nose straight onto the lens :-) No big game hunters here!A great piece of kit for the price. Manufacturer could easily improve it by using a better quality camera unit but then obviously the price would go up. You won't win next years Wildlife Photographer of the Year with this camera but that's not really what it's about. It's easy to set up and use, works well, the price is right and it's a lot of fun checking out the pictures. I'd happily recommend this inexpensive trail cam.

When the camera arrived, first impressions were very good indeed.The packaging looked professional and the camera and accessories were very well protected / wrapped inside the box.It is clear that this camera, for the money, has a wide range of features and appears to be very well made.I’m still experimenting with all the various features but I found the camera very easy to set-up and it has so far endured heavy rain and strong winds with no issue at all.The unit captures photos and videos reliably and even using standard AA batteries (I’m using Simply Duracell batteries), mine is still sitting at 100% life. Obviously this will vary depending on the motion detection sensitivity, etc… you have selected.So far the photos I have captured with the unit have been OK but I feel that its real forte is in capturing images very close up. I haven’t managed to capture any wildlife close-up yet, unfortunately, but I will persevere with this.All-in-all, I can recommend this unit – it’s hard to see how it would be possible to get a better product for the money.I will look forward using it through the seasons to capture footage in the garden.

I bought the camera primarily for security use in my garden however it has also been interesting to see all of the wildlife that appeared during the dark hours. The picture quality is great during the day and the night and the product seems to be built really well. It is a bit of a shame that the trail camera can only be powered by batteries however they will last for a considerable amount of time provided that the camera is not in use constantly. Overall a really versatile camera that has done its job.

This was bought early as a gift and by the time I gave it to my husband the ‘replacement window’ of One month had expired. The camera records in a jerky fashion and is not working correctly. We have another similar camera to compare it to. I am now unable to return it, surely there should be a one year guarantee on an item like this? BEWARE.I have since, through complex ways, be issued with a returns label after a phone call. Please Amazon make this process less complicated..

I have had a few trail cams now and this is one of the best. Packed full of features. Used as a means to monitor some land we own which we plan to build on. Set up was easy to follow and in practice. The range of the camera is excellent and the trigger speed stood out as the main plus points for this camera. We liked also very much that it is waterproof. A fantastic purchase for the price
