Black Squid Ink Pasta

Another delicious Camp'Oro pasta.

This was my first time squid ink pasta and it is delicious. I made a great festive Halloween meal out of it by incorporating black garlic and pairing it with this black pasta. It made my dark dinner dreams possible. RECIPE: For the black garlic cream sauce get a couple of cloves/bulbs of black garlic add juice of one lemon, a tablespoon of marmite, a little bit of avocado oil and a bit of cream or a nut-based milk blend until smooth, add more liquid if needed until it is the consistency of a heavy cream. Mix with the pasta and enjoy. This is best paired with fish or seafood

I like the black color and was using it to make a Halloween themed dinner. I am gonna have to take one star off because you don't even taste the squid ink flavor at all. It just tastes like regular pasta and I think they only put a tiny amount to dye it with a natural ingredient. So if you are taking medication and want to avoid food dyed black with charcoal, this is a good alternative. If you want that squid ink flavor. Buy the sauce cuz this pasta tastes no different from regular pasta.

This Italian black pasta is wonderful. The color is from squid ink and the flavor is subtle. i have only had it in restaurants with shellfish and to me that and fish is what it should be used for. It looks great with white or butter sauces and really tasted great and is striking looking. This is Italian made and wonderful quality. To give your dish a extra sheen add a half to a cup of the cooked pasta water to an olive oil or butter based sauce.

Once you get passed the fact that it’s black, it’s delicious.

This isn't easy to find, so I was happy that Amazon had it. Don't be afraid because almost everything from the ocean is good for you. The squid ink gives this pasta it's unique black color and serving it topped with anything white or colorful makes a great and exotic presentation for a special dinner. I like to serve it with shrimp and scallops sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. Tah, dah!

Pasta was ok, but thankfully I bought 2. I picked up one bag to open, and the BOTTOM DROPPED OUT AND ALL THE PASTA FELL ONTO THE FLOOR! Thank goodness I bought 2 as I was cooking for guests. I shouldn't have to check the bags to see if the bottom is split open. Taste isn't good enough to stick to this brand. Go buy a brand that has dependable packaging, or else buy multiple ones so if the bottom of the wrap is defective you won't lose all of your pasta purchase.

i've ordered this a couple times and each time the bag is open on the bottom or ripped. and the pasta is tosses around in the shipping packaging. the pasta itself is fine to cook and eat. a good crowd pleaser.
