Blackhawk Desert Ops Boot

I have worn Bates for years and will probably continue to use bates. However, I could not find the color I wanted with Bates so I figured I'd try something new. I received them and was very impressed. The color was exactly what I was looking for. Also, they are very light. The Bates boots I usually use are heavier than these but I never really felt that mattered. However, after wearing these for a full weekend, I would say it makes a big difference. Also, I am usually used to breaking boots in. I received this and almost immediately took them with me on a trip. I wore them all weekend and spent most of my time walking/standing on my feet. I didn't get any blisters and my feet were fine. They were very comfortable and required almost no breaking in. The only feature I like better on the Bates is the side zipper, but I'm not so lazy I can't tie my shoes, so it wasn't really a big deal. It also does seem to be fairly water resistant, as it rained most of the time I was wearing them. There was no leaking and my feat kept dry. I haven't fully submerged them in water yet, but as previous reviews have said, they are not water proof, and I'm pretty sure water will get in. I can't speak to how long these boots will last, but they do seem pretty durable. I would definitely recommend these, especially for military/law enforcement, or if you just need a good pair of hiking boots. I am a Bates guy all the way, but when I need replacements in this color, I will most likely buy these again.

love my boots..i am a woman..i bought theses boot 1.5 sizes smaller than normal..perfect fit..not bulky not heavy...fit great..easy to walk in..i love them..my son is a soldier and i am on my feet all day in a warehouse and had lot's of foot pain..my son suggested these boots...i was concerned about the military style of them, but they look great and feel great and good bye foot pain!!!! buy them!!!!

The water resistance is better than we thought it would be for someone who works at a carwash; but if you do work around water, they would need to be water proofed further because that's not what these boots were meant for. The insoles are very comfortable, which is impressive considering my husband has one arched foot and one flat foot. They're lightweight and perfect for hiking with great ankle support.

- These boots are very comfortable.- Leather and fabric all match the same color - AF Green.- Very minimal break-in, and a pretty soft tread. My last boots had a hard tread and lasted for almost 2 1/2 years (only needed replacment because I wore a hole in the leather). Suspect the tread will wear out on these before that much time passes again, but the comfort is worth the tradeoff IMO.- I didn't know if they were tall enough to tuck my pant legs into (didn't want to start blousing straps again) but they ended up being tall enough.DO NOT BUY FROM OPTICS PLANET -- I ordered a pair of these "new" boots and what I received was a non-descript cardboard box with boots that had scuffed leather, worn tread and no tags! I returned and bought elsewhere. NEW boots came in a blackhawk box with tags and had that fresh leather boot smell.

Coming from wearing Rocky S2V's for the past 5 years, I got sick of the prices steadily rising, with them now being at $230. I looked around on amazon and found these for $70, and decided to pull the trigger. Man am I glad I did. Just as comfortable as my old Rocky boots, and have no issues wearing them all day. When I can buy 3 pairs of these for the price of 1 pair of Rocky boots, what's not to love?

These boots a amazing!!! They feel soo stinking comfortable and are super sharp looking! They don't require a shoe horn to get your heel in down to the bottom. The sole is like a mini trampoline for your feet because it's so cushy inside. Fast shipping! I highly, highly recommend for military use!

Best and most comfortable boot in over 18 years in service; own three of these: grey for work, desert tan for hiking-wearing-outdoor work and black leather pair for motorcycling. Highly recommended & well worth the money, more comfortable than good running shoes!

These are by far the best boots i have ever worn. These are my 4th pair. Only reason for so many was the others were tan and are unable to wear them in uniform anymore. Have tried Oakley, Nike, Danner, etc and i would take these over all the others.
