Better than expected
I purchased this for personal use and I found it to be better than the other reviews yet it still came faulty. Unlike the other reviews, my unit does not have a faulty battery but the first time I started it up it acted as if it would never charged. Took and hour to just start up the first time which was kind of disappointing. My unit's fault is that the top volume buttons on the tablet side do not work, and I can't seem to get into tablet mode at all. My other complaint is out of the 128 G they say this comes stock with only 116G is what comes and 26G is stock information they put on it only leaving 90G which is disappointing. Outside of this I can't find any issues. The battery lasts days and I charge it at night as I am asleep and it is usually fully charged by the time I wake up. Overall - happy with it

want to give it a 3.5, but a three isnt good enough...
i really want to give it a 3.5 but its closer to 4 than a 3. im a Microsoft guy. not a fan boy. but ii have Xbox, had a Microsoft phone (waiting for Surface phone). even had the Band for a while. i have a Surface RT, Pro 2 (will try to sell both of those) and a Pro 5 (2017).so i have a iPad 4th gen with LTE. if you don't know about iPads their OS has to be updated to run the latest apps. i cant get any more updates. so when apps update they don't run because ii don't have the latest OS. so then i have to attach it to a computer to download a previous version of the app. you get tired of that. ii was thinking of buying an Air but realized it probably wasn't going to be updated past the current OS which means id have the problem again. was looking at Air 2 but came up with the idea of getting a Surface Go with LTE. but didn't want to spend that much.started looking for Surface 3 with LTE saw this great deal. i was worried because i read reviews AFTER purchasing but before it arrived. saw a review stating its locked to Verizon. and another stating locked to AT&T. both worried me because ii have Tmo. one of the biggest reasons i wanted this was getting internet when wifi isn't available. got it and it had AT&T apps and showed an AT&T signal but wasn't connected. ii was worried. but when i took the SIM tray out i saw there was an AT&T sim in there. so ii took the sim out put the tray back in and it didn't say AT&T anymore which was promising. today (got this on Friday) i put my Tmo sim in and i was good to go. not sure why some folks are getting locked devices. but mine is GSM unlocked.there are a few scuffs and scratches on the bottom that didn't notice at first. NONE on the screen. the keyboard (was worried bout the color) is an awesome grey/charcoal that's flawless.the Windows app store doesn't have as many apps as Apples. but i can always just go to the website.the value is amazing. less than $300 for 4gb ram and 128gb storage, plus another reason i wanted this over iPad is the ability to upgrade the storage via micro sd. had to get a flash drive with lightning connector for storage expansion. that's okay sometimes. but don't always want a flash drive hanging from the bottom of the unit.btw: my Surface Pro pen works with it. and it came with W10 Pro, not Home which is a HUGE plus for me.my only issues are the battery life was hoping it would have a new battery since its renewed. but not getting new battery time from it. and the wifi card is older and drops when im at a distance that my newer devices stay connected. but the Tmo sim has negated that :-)

poor service
i received the item it seems in good condition. but when i tried to set it up. it would not allow it to be setup because it was a previous corporate tablet. which means they did not properly referb this item. so i shipped it back and now have to wait 3 weeks to get my money back even tho they have already received the item. they are holding my money hostage for a bogus product.

How to fix home, power, and volume buttons not working
This product performs quite well. it was delivered with minimal damage (a slight scratch to the type cover, but not noticable), and the windows 10 pro is quite nice. The only issues I've had are with the product itself. surface 3 with windows 10 doesn't have much driver support nowdays, as microsoft's efforts are focused on their newest products. That being said, I've managed to troubleshoot an issue I had while going through updates. IF YOU have issues with the volume, power, and home buttons having limited functionality, do the following:Open up device manager, go into system devices, find the device labeled "surface button". Uninstall, and select to delete the files for this device. when the device is uninstalled, restart your surface 3. Open device manager again, the "surface button" device should now be replaced with "surface home button", and it should work as intended.

Charging issues due to not actual charger sent with product
I’m very happy with my purchase except for the charger that was sent was not the correct charger for the device and stopped charging to the point where I had to purchase a actual surface 3 charger which now works awesome but it would have been nice if for the price the actual charger was sent.

I think mine was just a lemon, haven't purchased another to check.
Within the first week mine was stuck in a load loop as other have reported. Thankfully, I was able to restore from the recovery partition and disabled updates so that couldn't happen again. Not two weeks later, it was booting into set up, and acting as if windows wasn't loaded at all.I tried to recover windows again and was met with a "no recovery partition" message...I tried to completely reload windows and was met with "no drive to install windows". Evidently the SSD failed totally. Returned it, got refund, hesitant to try again. It's a shame. I really enjoyed the convenience of a mini laptop when it was working. Thus my fairly neutral rating is based on when the device worked. I have little reason to think my experience was anything more than a one-off anomaly.

Stay away
After 10 m0nths of EXTREMELY light use, the audio functions went haywire, Despite FIVE (5) live chats, spanning 3+ hours, Microsoft agents were unable to correct the audio problems. I asked for the issue to be elevated to a supervisor four times, each time was denied. The result? A piece of junk that cost me $100+ to throw in the trash. Learn from my experience, run quickly away from this item and its comrades!

like new, missing keyboard.
great tablet/laptop, only thing I have to complain about is that the keyboard was missing. other than that the screen was without a scratch and the battery lasted a good while. great great tablet. I'm sure they would of sent me a keyboard if I emailed the seller but I just decided to return with no problems.
