Great for older middle school kids.
Great book for older middle schoolers. Definitely preview before reading some stories to younger kids. I love the art work.

A great book with brilliant pictures. Just a couple of notes...
This is a great book, beautifully illustrated by the awesome Quinton Winter, full of inspiring stories about men and women of all ages who have had a dream and gone on to achieve it. I really enjoyed, and am looking forward to sharing more of it with my nieces, who found the part they read and the pictures funny. There are just two points I'd make - firstly, not all the stories in here are suitable for younger children, so if you're planning to read with them, do have a look through first and make sure you know which are suitable for your child and which aren't. Also, the font size can't be changed in this book (ebook!), so make sure you read in portrait more to get the largest size possible, or buy the physical book for a controlled size. Otherwise, a brilliant book that I highly recommend, even to adults - you learn lots in really short bites!

Not all cute and uplifting
There is a lot of valuable information in this book, but I feel it needs a bit of a disclaimer. The first 3 stories I read were about children and people living through horribly violent or oppressive or just generally terrible conditions and scenarios. I was surprised to see the first story illustration depicting a kid with an AK-47. I fully realize that the violence endured by these individuals is an integral part of the story, but I don’t find it appropriate for my younger children. If you are ready to have some raw truth chats with your children about why certain things happen, then this book is a great gateway. I will save it until my kids are a bit older. The attached photo is the first story in the book.

Great content but not a readable format in kindle
I bought this as a kindle book for my children on their kindle device. While the content seems to be great, I don't recommend purchasing the electronic version. The font size cannot be increased, it is more like a scanned page, PDF style, with a black font on a grey background. This sadly means that it's a book we won't be reading (and I wish I had put the money towards the paper version instead).

Totally misrepresented
I thought this book was going to be learning about children and people in history. There were very violent and disturbing stories that I would not read to my grandkids. One of a child that was in their classroom when someone walked in with a gun and killed this child's classmates. Another was of a child living in a 3rd world country during a war when there home was bombed. Very frightening and overwhelming stories for children

For young readers that want something different
Our daughter already owns and read Good Night Stories For Rebel Girls (One & Two) and Stories For Boys Who Dare To Be Different, and was very much looking forward to this next book in the series. This hard cover book provides the reader with short stories (75 in total) about young people that followed their own path and dared to be different. The wide range of inspirational and interesting individuals includes athletes, inventors, scientists, artists, and philanthropists from all over the world. It gives you a varied, well-presented collection of mini-biographies. The main message of this book is that you don’t have to follow what society prescribes and simply go over down trodden paths - its pays off to be different. All the pages are very colourful, even though I’m not a big fan of the art style to which a page is dedicated per individual. The narratives are quite brief and to the point, which is a benefit for young readers. Though it only provides a limited amount of information per child. Our daughter says these book make reading and learning very enjoyable.

Recommend
My 10 year old loved it. Inspiring read. Highly recommend. What I liked is the format. Easy for both early and advanced readers. Fonts, format and illustration all make it easy for young readers. As parent I too was inspired to pick it and read it.

Dieses Buch habe ich meiner Freundin, die Englischlehrerin ist, zu Weihnachten geschenkt. Sie findet es toll und möchte Auszüge davon für ihren Unterricht verwenden.

Beautiful Stories, but impossible to read on a kindle
I love images as much as the next person, but when this was delivered to my kindle I was absolutely confused. They've kept the format the same as the book, meaning the pages are darkened behind the text, some pages are barely distinguishable, the text is in an image block, so you have to use gestures to zoom in on parts, move it to read the next section etc, and it's darn near impossible. The stories are lovely, but reading tiny text, pausing to move the page, with the backlight on bright does not help to send my little one off to sleep. I'm very disappointed with the Kindle format of this book.
