Painless Learning Common Sight Words Placemat

These are great learning placement mats to keep the kids entertained during family meals. I ordered 10 different learning placement mats for our 4 kids (ages 1, 4, 7, and 9). My kids love their new placement mats. We let their choose a different placement when setting the table to eat. The common sight words placement is great with the selection of common sight words. My pre-kindergartner is able to start seeing sight words that will be taught in Kindergarten next year to give her a head-start on seeing the familiar words. While her 2nd and 3rd grade sisters are able to read over the sight words to gain better memory and recognition of the words. We often play a game during dinner where we will ask them to choose any one sight word from each column to try to create a sentence. They each take turns around the table. For each word they use from a column they get 1 point during that turn per sight word. First to score 50 points wins.Also the quality of the placemats are great. They are completely laminated and the placemat wipes off clean. I can imagine we will get many years of use from these placemats for our kids.

Rather than whining about dinner taking too long (seriously, I am not making gourmet meals here, but food takes time to get ready!!!), my kids are looking at their placemats entertained AND learning something new!This placemat is really sturdy, easy to clean and nice pictures that are appealing to kids. I bought a bunch of these placemats and each meal my kids get to pick out which one they want. I also like that these are super easy to keep clean and the shifting of plates, bowls, silverware, cups is not scratching my table! Why didn't I buy these sooner!?!?!

My son is 2 and we bought these to help him boost his word power - he has always been very good at motor skills but a little more on the quiet side. He is doing great with these and can point and say half the words on the list. One side is lists of common sight words and the other side is pictures with the word under them. We like these better than flash cards since cards get chewed or colored on. This placemat he can not only play with at meal times, but we can wipe it off and he can use it as a chart during play time.

It helps with my husbands spelling after his accident. I love how it is big so he can see the words. Delivered in a secure package. very fast delivery.

This is a nice size place mat with a lot of words on it. I don't know if it went by a lost, but it isn't the one used at school. There are common words and words kids definitely should know how to spell. The words are in alphabetical order per list. It sits at my daughter's dinner spot.I wish the plastic border was a bit thicker around the edges, but the thickness and durability is great. I have several (about 20) placemats, and Painless Learning ones are good quality.

Very cute and durable. It has a stron laminated cover over it which is holding up very well. (I've gotten cheaper versions at the store before but the laminate ends up peeling apart). The kids love these too.

This mat includes the common words my first grader comes across. The mat is high quality and has held up nicely to scrubbings.

The kids like these things and it gives them something to learn while they are sitting at the table
