Great value for the price
I have to confess that when I ordered this guitar for PS3 based only on the price I expected a product of somewhat dubious quality, since I was getting it as an extra guitar to the one included in the game, I thought that would be just fine. I was quite surprised when I received it and opened it, the guitar is actually of great quality, the design is nice, it is smaller than the one included in 'GH:World Tour' and it is very easy to get used to. The guitar response is excellent and the wireless receiver has this pretty cool functionality with a light that lits every time one of the buttons are pressed in the correspondent color, which has become quite handy while playing. The guitar works great with 'Guitar Hero 3' and 'World Tour', I have not really tested it with any 'Rock Band' games yet (that will hopefully change September 9th) I read some reviewers experienced problems synchronizing the guitar with the PS3, well, I ran into the same problems, and the issue seems to be with the instructions in the manual being incorrect, if you go to the 'Troubleshooting' section of the manual, the correct synch process is actually there (misplaced, but there) Like the official guitars, the yellow button has a small lump that helps you locate which buttons are which when not looking, that complemented by the lights in the receiver are of great help for people just learning to play these games. It also has an interchangeable face plate (white and pink), and the accessories needed to change it are included. It uses 3 AA batteries, play time is great as I have had this for a couple months now and have not changed the batteries since. Highly recommended!

Great guitar PS3 firmware problem FIXED!
PROS: Nice build quality, good customer service, charges off of ps3 (cable is same mini usb and included) or can use 3AAs CONS: Dongle did need to be replaced, but NYKO will do it for free. I purchased two of these just before Christmas because they were so cheap (prices were less than 25 bucks) and my other two guitars (stock GH3 and stock RB1) stopped working. I figured that if anything I could just return them or at worst I wouldn't lose much money trying them out. I knew going into the purchase that there had been a PS3 firmware update that rendered the guitars useless (I think it had something to do with the wireless pairing sequence). I read another review that stated that the guitar wireless dongle could be replaced for free from NYKO and that after the problem was fixed. So, I sent an email to NYKO asking whether they had a fix and what it would take to get it. They replied very quickly (within 2 hours) and said that yes there was a fix and that If I could give them my address they would be happy to ship two of the dongles out to me for free. I was a little relieved after hearing this and then ordered the two guitars. I got both promptly and in good shipping shape (though one was in a massive over sized box). NYKO was very nice on the phone and shipped them to me promptly. I can say that both of the new dongles work with both Rockband and Guitar Hero and I am very impressed with their build quality. I had thought that NYKO made some pretty cheap video game accessories but both of these guitars seem well made and relatively compact. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and will definitely use NYKO again in the future.

BAD PRODUCT, PLEASE READ REVIEW
OK so i bought this product online for 36.38. I bought this product for ROCK BAND 2 for the PS3 console. My anticipation was really high, couldnt wait to use this product. Problem 1...It took almost 3 WEEKS for the product to finally come, and all that time, CUSTOMER SERVICE was horrible. They always put me on hold and never gave me an exact date for the product to arrive. Ok for the product now.....The guitar looks so UNREALISTIC, and weighs less than 5 pounds. Just looking at it from 10 feet away looks so UNREALISTIC. When i tried to sync and establish a connection with both the foot pedal and the guitar didn't work, because the man at customer service told me that i should press the nyko button consecutive times so it could sync. When that was accomplished, I noticed that the foot pedal adapter kept on triggering the green button without me even pressing it. And thats what it kept on doing. I disconnected the guitar and even took off the batteries and it continued do that. I knew that either the adapter was defected or it just wasnt compatible for ROCK BAND 2. THat was my problem...THis product is SUCKS for the price. I sent it back and was reimbursed with my money. Its best you pay 69.99 for an official wireless guitar because these independent companies are just o PlayStation 3 FrontMan Wireless Guitar - White

Shoulda bought a different one.
Bought this for my daughter, knowing we play both Rock Band and Guitar Hero. The thing is a NIGHTMARE to get set-up. First, the foot pedal has to be on Guitar Hero no matter which game you are playing. It then takes at least 15 minutes to get the controller and the foot pedal to sync up. Once it is synced up, no problems, but getting it synced up is a pain, to the point I thought about returning it.

Firmware 3.10 makes using this guitar more of a challenge here's a way to make it work
I got this guitar as a cheap option to be able to add a second guitar to GH3 and Rockband. I bought it for $9.99 which seemed like a real steal. After getting it I saw all the reviews from people how fireware 3.10 made the guitar useless. I just got the guitar today. At first I couldn't get the thing to work, then after some dumb luck it worked for Rockband. My wife wanted to play some GH3 so I went to change to GH3 (instructions say you need to restart your PS3 for it to connect....total lie). When I did it, it didn't work. After some searching online I found out that someone else was able to get it to work. THIS IS HOW I AM ABLE TO MAKE IT WORK: 1. You need 3 other controllers besides the Nyko guitar (they can be the rockband instrument set, or just any PS3 controllers. I used a DS3 a RB guitar and GH3 guitar) 2. You need all 3 of the controllers assigned to the PS3 taking up spot 1-3 except the Nyko guitar (goal is to assign the Nyko to 4 or higher) 3. Plug in the Nyko dongle and attempt to link with the guitar (it will most likely make the Nyko button turn red which is the color that won't play) 4. Turn the switch on the dongle back and forth once or twice ending on GH setting letting the guitar link on it's own (It may not assign correctly on the first try, but keep switching between Rockband setting and GH setting. Always end on GH, because it will work with Rockband on GH setting) 5. After a few times it should link and allow you to play Obviously this option isn't something that everyone wants to put up with, but for $10 it'll work fine for my uses. Hopefully my instructions will help ppl that either want to keep the guitar or can't return it for a refund. The guitar works well after tricking it into linking. I can't buy a guitar for $10 that will work on both GH3 and RB so this guitar is a winner in that regard. ************Buyer beware if you expect this product to link automatically as advertised. Sony has stated they will not do anything to enable it to work and Nyko has a statement out that they are working on a solution, but who knows when or if they will deliver one.

Nyko 83057 Ps3 Front Man Guitar- Black
I bought one of these guitars over a year ago for my wife, and my she loves hers. She's a small person, and liked how light it is and the buttons were lightning quick. Since she's a 95+% player in "Expert" mode, I figured that it was about as good a testimony as one could get, so when we bought Rock Band 2, I decided to get two more guitars - especially since it seemed to be such a deal. That's when the problem started. When the guitars arrived, I plugged in the first one right out of the box and it seemed to have a mind of it's own. There was a repeated green button strike that immediately drove the game into solo mode, with a song queued up for play. There was no overcoming the problem, so I figured the first one was broken and got out the second one. It failed the exact same way. AN UPDATE: It turns out that Rock Band 2 has changed their codes for the guitar controller to match those of Guitar Hero. How nice to include an undocumented feature that drives a consumer batty. My discovery of this feature was quite accidental. So to get this guitar to work with Rock Band 2, the dongle must be set for Guitar Hero. It still needs to be set to Rock Band for the original Rock Band game. For this reason alone, I have docked a point from their rating (even though it more rightly is a good feature not discussed by the game itself), because otherwise this guitar works really well - very fast key responses.

Awesome controller
This is the best guitar controller for the money, very well built, easy to connect, looks great and functions flawlessly. It came with batteries, strap, a different colored pick guard for customization, not sure why but it came with a USB cable like the ones for a regular controller but it doesn't seem to work wired, maybe there's an explanation in the directions but setup was so simple I didn't read them, it has a port to add accessories like an effects pedal(if they even exist), the receiver looks like a pedal which is pretty cool and it lights up with the corresponding color as you hit the fret buttons. My only complaint is the neck is a little flimsy but better than most in this price range. Works with all Guitar Hero titles on PS3, not sure about rock band because GH is better and I don't own any RB games. this is perfect as a primary or a backup controller.

Works great.
This thing works great. I read the reviews shortly after it was shipped and I got a little worried at first, but I haven't had any problems with it. I've only played Guitar Hero 3 & 4 with it so I don't know how it works with Rock Band. As for the other complaints.. First off, I have pretty small hands.. I'm a 21 year old male and measurement from my wrist to the tip of my middle finger is around 6 inches and I've had no problems playing with it. I haven't had any problems syncing the guitar with the ps3 either as of yet.. all I have to do is make sure the pedal is set to Guitar Hero, press the button on the controller, and in less than a second it's synced. It's an overall nice controller, but had I realized I could have gotten the official Guitar Hero controller for the same price I would have just gotten that instead as it doesn't seem to have the little tapping part on it. Aside from that, no complaints.
