Wallpaper* City Guide Beirut Paperback – October 1, 2012

It's small and concise, good overview but no depth. Good for a weekend guide if you don't want historical facts

I will disclose this: I have never been to Beirut. I do, however, own a copy of this guide. This guide gave me a glimpse into a beautiful war torn city. The guide gave me a glimpse into what was once a sophisticated modern city with a real vision. It nows lays in a slumber, partly crumbled by wars, still dynamic by those who dare to venture, and anxious and uncertain about its future. The soul of the city is reflected through its architecture.I can not say whether or not the recommendations are any good, but I can say that the hotels and boutiques did look sumptuous.This is a good book to add to a collection.

Useless information. Not even the map is any good. Sure, there are no recent guides to Lebanon or Beirut, but don't waste 5p on this. Just google it.

Uninformative uninteresting poorly put together neither a guide or travelogue. For a complex city such as Beirut one requires something more

Muchas fotos muy bonitas, algún detalle arquitectónico que no encontrarías en otras guías de viaje y una edición bonita, además de un formato práctico. Pero todo eso sirve de poco si el grado de información es tan bajo: escasísima información practica (nada de transportes, por ejemplo) y salvo que uno viaje en plan hotel y restaurante de diseñ,o se quedará con hambre y sin cama. Eso sí: no falta un capituo sovre voitiques de ropa. En definitiva, si eres un viajero con inquietudes como las descritas, el libro puede servirte. Es, en cualquier caso, un complemento, pero nunca el libro de referencia para un viaje a Beirut.

Ich war nur mit diesem Buch in Beirut, es war alles drin, tolle Cafes und Kneipen, Restaurants und Clubs. Eines der besten wallpaper und nicht zu "nur teuer zählt".
