Excellent Tex-Mex Cookbook
A pleasure to read and an excellent source for authentic Tex-Mex cuisine recipes. Just bought another copy for family after we had a family get together. During the pandemic, we have recreated some of the recipes from various restaurants which are closed. From this cookbook, we had the Chicken Enchiladas, Enchilada Gravy and homemade corn tortillas as part of the meal. The Enchiladas were the centerpiece with everyone pitching in to help prepare. The teenagers learned how to make the tortillas from scratch and the adults took turns making the rest of the meal. Having all the family take part made the dinner bueno especial. We complimented the dinner with wine, Dos Exxis and Texas Sweet Tea.

Simple recipes and decently organized
I give it 3 stars because the effort and organization put into the book. It's not bad, it is just not great. The recipes lack quite a bit and after living in SA for over 25 years, I know the basics. I was looking for more real family recipes but as others have stated, it seems she might have held back on the secrets. I was disappointed in the recipes but they do provide a base or starting idea for you to work off of. You want to add your own to it and looking for the basic idea, then this works.

UK review.
As a chef working in a rural area I found sourcing some of the ingredients difficult, once that was done I did have fun.The hepfull hints section especially regarding tequila was very useful.I found this to be a well laid out clearly written book that once a stock of basic commodities has been built up easy to use. I did make straight for the chilli con carne so now know what the real thing tastes like. Some of the side dishes make good supper and light snack meals.I,m still working my way through the pages and am enjoying the process very much
