Took A Ball Off My Face
The face protector works. I had surgery on my schnoz and wore the face protector to basketball practice a week after surgery. I successfully took a basketball off the side of my face (blind sided) and the protector did its job to protect my nose. It obviously still hurt, but there was no damage to my face or nose. Only negative is that the players call me "Coach Hannibal Lecter" and I frighten small children when I wear it. Nose is safe and secure though.

This mask has been a perfect addition to his "uniform"
Our son took an elbow to the face on the first day of basketball tryouts. UGH!!! We were not sure what would happen to his season. After surgery, insurance would not cover a mask, so we went to other sources. This mask has been a perfect addition to his "uniform". The fit is good and adjustable. It is not a custom mask with expensive quality, but it has sever the purpose and done the job that we needed it to do. (Our son takes an average of two charges per game. He is a physical, defensive player.) Highly recommend.

This mask is for narrow faces!
Maybe the mask is made for kids or people with narrow faces. The forehead area fits OK but the area around the cheeks form pretty much a 90 degree angle. This results in an uncomfortable fit AND it sticks out about an inch and half from the tip of my nose. Perhaps they shaped this without the thick foam padding which would have been a better fit.Disregarding the issue with the fit, the protection is decent. Basketball is my sport and I generally play point guard. Vision is not a problem...I've read reviews that people complained about not being able to see but they might be expecting miracles or something only a custom fitted mask would provide. The clear plastic allows you to see in front of you. The padding below and above does restrict the a little bit but it's worth sacrificing for the protection. There are 2 issues going back to the mask...to get it to stay as close to the face as possible, I adjust the straps so it's relatively tight to my face. After a while, it gets pretty uncomfortable and hurts a little on the pressure points (on the forehead and cheeks). Might be OK if you get rest after a few minutes but in pickup games that lasts for a while, you don't get a breather to take the mask off. The other problem is when I bring the ball up before my shot, the mask is so far off my face it gets in the way. It's happened on multiple occasions where forget about the mask as I go for an outside shot, I hit my mask with the basketball which throws off my shot resulting in an airball. I've tried adjusting to this by shooting on the left and right side or shoot from my chest but anyone will tell you varying your shot will lower your accuracy. Conclusion, the mask offers great protection but would have been great if it fit better. Because of how narrow it is, it causes problems mentioned above.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this!
Our 14 year old daughter broke her nose in Basketball practice, and the only way she could play was to get a nose guard. Her Dr. sent us to a facility that makes them to fit her face. Well they wanted over $900.00 dollars for a face protector and we ordered this one, and It fits perfectly, and she is able to play with her basketball team with NO worries.

It really was a waste of money
My 14 year old daughter could not see very well while wearing it. Very awkward fit. It sits to far away from the face. I even had had her to wear it before the game to get adjusted to having it on. After wearing it for a few minutes during the game, she had to take it off. It really was a waste of money.

Back on the Court
I got this item for my nephew after he broke his nose playing basketball. It came very quickly and he was able to have it in time to practice with it. He was afraid that the coach wouldn't let him play with a broken nose, but with this, he was back out on the court in no time. It worked out well.

Nice idea, poor form.
This mask is only on the front of your face. That may sound like a good thing but if any pressure is applied to the sides of the mask the entire mask shifts on your face, ramming the mask directly into your nose. The pads below the eyes block all vision as they are thick (which provides nice padding against hits from the front) and not clear.I barely felt safe walking around the house with this mask on, let alone getting onto the soccer field. I wouldn't be able to see to kick a stationary ball let alone one that was moving.

Good for the money
Good price and does a good job of protecting. My daughter broke her nose in a basketball game and uses it to protect her nose while it heals. It does obscure some of your view but it protects when it something hits your face. It did come off once during a rather aggressive basketball game because my daughter did not have the straps tight enough. It will do the job until we get the $500 custom mask that doesn't block your view. She plans on wearing it for the long run so the custom mask makes good sense.
