3lb is a LOT of clover!
I actually bought this in Aug, 2017 and just used up the last of the bag (kept the bag in the freezer). Here in the NE, we have had a lot of rain the last few summers and I believe that was the key to this clover germinating and growing so well.I did over-plant some in the winter, but for the most part, I put it on bare spots in the summer, right after a heavy rain. And since it would rain every few days, I never worried about watering. Every single place I spread this clover grew, not one failure. We have another rainy spring, so I'm ordering more now. Never used a spreader, just scooped some out of the bag in a little Dixie cup and scattered it around. Have a sort of wild thing going in the back yard and hope to have a full clover lawn back there. In the front, its more conventional, with a grass/clover mix.The bees have been having a field day on the clover in the front, so I want to add a bit more. Plus, being in my '60s, its sort of nostalgic to see that beautiful clover lawn that was so prevalent in my youth.

Superior Seed Company!
Excellent growth success rate, No one can beat the price no matter where you go, ex:my local nursery wants $11.00+ per pound! When the drought hits every lawn in my neighborhood is dead or very brown but not mine, clover is tough and it also shades the younggrass so it grows abundantly. When I walk barefoot the clover is cool and soft, just keep a steady pace so the honey bees can get out of your way and as soon as you pass by they resume where they left off. I have never been stung this way in 40 years of walking barefoot in my clover! So throwthe "I don't want to get stung" out the window. I highly recommend this company at 110%+ Now add the wildlife factor in, they love it!

Took till the next season but gorgeous!
Update: I feel like I almost owe an apology for my earlier review. A little came up right before winter fully set in finally but this spring I have some beautiful clover growing in most of why were eyesore bare patches last year. Turns out I’m very pleased so I am upping this to 4 stars, not 5 because the shipping still left a lot to be desired. The ziplock bag it came in was open and spilled inside of the shipping package.

Fast sprouting and beautifully green
Excellent germination! I used the clover to patch some damaged spots in my lawn to hold over until reseeding time. I put down a little bit of fresh topsoil, sowed the seeds, then covered lightly with a peat mix. Had sprouts within a couple of days and the patches are still going strong weeks later.

Warning: seed is coated.
The seed was "nitro-coated" with a particularly offensive fungicide and nitrogen enhancer, Since we had planned to use the clover in an organic garden, we ended up having to dispose of the entire batch.Unfortunately, almost all clover sold today seems to be nitro-coated. We were eventually able to find a local supplier that still sells uncoated seed, although it took a bit of looking. This incident was probably my fault; I should have suspected that the seed might be coated and tried to contact the seller before ordering; nonetheless, the seller has a responsibility to describe the product accurately and honestly. Most of the sellers that sell coated seed state so clearly in their blurb -- this seller did not.

NOT WHITE DUTCH, WEED CONTAMINATION
I started with a blank slate and mixed this seed with winter rye for planting. Now that all the seeds have propagated, I have winter rye and a ton of weeds and no clover. The quality control is soooo horrible, if they are just sourcing weed seeds.

Outlaw Clover
Come and get me.I am an outlaw.I planted clover in my yard.Good thing I don't have a homes association. They would be outside with pitchforks, torches, and writs.Clover puts nitrogen in the soil. The flowers are beautiful. The smell of clover flowers and fresh cut clover is wonderful. It could become a ground cover, I think, if the conditions are right.I don't want to support a needy lawn of cultivated grass. It is water and chemical hungry. The uniformity of all-for-one lawns is tedious.Clover supports bees and bunnies. It is not, I find a native species, so I can't love it for that. I love it because you can make chains out of the flowers and make flower crowns for little ones.So come and get me, lawn and garden experts.Or try.

Didn't work for me
I planted this in an area of my yard that nothing grows (I thought clover might be resilient enough to work), but it didn't grow either. It stayed damp for about a week, and got indirect sunlight. Not sure if its the seed, the sun, or my awful yard...
