Save money!
To start this is my wife's account. lol I don't ever write any reviews but thought this might help someone. I got this for my 2020 Bounder the old one had a key way in the gear box that broke. Found this 1 and decided to give it a try. I had to remove 1 of the 2 washers that were on the old motor gear so it would fit flush in gear box. When I first tried it the step would only go part way in. The motor was binding and kicking its self out. So after a little trial an error figured out you just don't want to tighten it to much. Loosened each bold a little and works great. Saved my self probably $600 compared to sending it to a shop.

Compatible with Kwikee Series 32 step and the original controller
I have a 1995 Pace Arrow motorhome with a Series 32 step on it and the old style motor and gearbox and original controller for it. I read somewhere that these new ones were not compatible and you had to buy a new control panel for it and the entire kit was around $450. I believe the stop is based on a current load and the gear motors were both DC so it was worth a shot. I ordered this gearbox which looked similar to my old one and a new generic motor and wiring harness. I installed it, it bolted right up with no modifications, crimped on a couple of female spade terminals to connect it to the old controller and plugged it in. It actuated perfectly and hit the end stop exactly where it should. This was a relatively cheap alternative for the retrofit kit that was suggested or buying a whole new step.

Perfect fit..and, easy to install
RV center quoted me $600 for the gearbox and the motor + installation. after seeing couple of YouTube, got both removed from my RV (mine made loud clicking noise once the steps retracted like if something was grinding).. with motor removed, saw one of the gear tooth completely gone..but, the motor was all good; no damaged tooth. So, decided to purchase the gearbox only…I wasn’t sure which model I needed…but, the picture looked the same…so, took the risk and purchased the used for $45…once received, attached the motor + installed to my RV…perfect fit and was easy to install… It worked..smooth…saved over $500..took me ~30min (remove/install)…and, I m not a mechanic

great parts for newer style IMGL steps only not the old style pre imgl...find your part list to confirm they look alike!!!
perfect fit! IMPORTANT - this is for newer style IMGL steps only not the old style pre imgl...find your part list to confirm they look alike!!! the easiest way to tell the difference is to look at the end of the shaft that the linkage attaches to (dead center of unit)...on the new style (this one), you will see a "nut" holding the linkage on. The old style (not this one-pre-imgl) will have a "square" one piece shaft tip and the linkage shaft is held in place by a round bushing with square hole in it that fits on the shaft end and is supported by a "kidney shaped cover" mounted to the motor. ****the matching motor for this gearcase is Kwikee 379147 Motor Replacement Kit - the clutch in it commonly wears out and slips so i advise you to replace it now as well. if you broke this gearcase then you probably broke or stressed the clutch too and it only comes with motor kit. I recommend you take your motor and gearcase apart and inspect ALL of the parts you may have broken! I am an RV mechanic and these steps get hammered into curbs and not lubed properly so a few parts will likely break...some in this gearcase like the linkage, motor bolts, large gear and some in the motor clutch/gear housing. this actually seems better made than the stock units. worked great on my customers 2004 bus with the imgl kwikee step. my step was coming down fine but would skip going back up and when fully retracted, motor would keep running and make a loud pulsing clicking noise until he had to cut the wires to turn it off. i had two broken parts and also needed the motor with the motor slipper clutch (large white plastic gear with triangular clutch mechanism inside black plastic housing attached the actual motor) FYI these steps break from lack of proper and complete lubrication (don't use light spray oils like wd40 or silicone spray, use motor oil it lasts much longer...i use it yearly ALSO lube every pivoting point of contact and the large shaft bushings way up underneath that the linkage attaches to) and they also break from what i call curbing! hitting curbs or letting the step down on top of the curb and then loading your rv...all that weight and rocking back and forth puts tremendous pressure on these steps/motors and gears. always park far enough away from the curb to let the step fully extend with no contact with anything else and they will last the life of the rv. if your steps are bent and binding, take them off and straighten them out or take them to a blacksmith or metal shop before installing these new parts or youll be buying new parts again soon. they need to be moving freely to last.

Smooth working steps again!
My old 14 year old gearbox was getting noisy, found a couple gear teeth damaged and causing extra load on the motor. Went with this OEM replacement to avoid problems mentioned on reviews for the off-brand models. I would have given 5 stars except, the pin for the pinion gear seems shorter than the original gearbox i replaced, raising my concern for extra fast wear under load.

Perfect fit!
MH: 2014 Forest River Legacy 340KP - step began making loud clicking sound and not retracting all the way. After researching the part # I found this and the replacement electric motor. There were 4 bolts attaching this gearbox to the top step - and 3 bolts attaching the motor to the gearbox. The hardest part of removing the old gearbox was the bolts are a type of carriage bolts that fit into a square hole to keep it from turning. It's flat on top and you can't grab it with pliers. The 2nd hardest thing to do was removing the cable from the socket on the motor. Other than that the liimited space under the RV made things a bit cramped. Overall it took about an hour to R&R the assembly and everything works fine and quieter than before.

Fixed my non-working steps
Delivered quickly and was a direct replacement, every bolt lined up. Mine was the curved arm style and was easy to match up. The old motor was stuck in the up position so it was not easy to get the steps down and the old motor out, very tight to get to. once the old one is out and the steps are down it's a 15 min. job to install the new one.

I had a loud rattling noise and the stairs would labor going in/out. I installed the new gear assembly but when installing the smaller gear on the motor shaft (with the extension pin and both washers), there was binding and the stairs were struggling to open/close. This was with both the old and the new motor. Eventually after troubleshooting and noticing both motors didn't fit flush against the gear housing, I found that only using one of the two washers on the motor shaft fixed the issue. The stairs are working amazing now. There seems to be a slight height difference between my old gear assembly and the new one where the motor shaft extension pin sits. I left both new gear assembly and motor in as the old motor was suspect. Just to be aware.
