Delighted to be able to keep my microwave!
I’m a very happy camper! I had the same problem others had - microwave functioned, but wasn’t heating food. Replaced the magnetron, and now works great and sounds the same to me. No noticeable noise differences. Replacement of the part itself was easy. Now getting the microwave down, cover back on, and it back up to its original space – that was a different story. But, totally worth the effort to keep my microwave and keep the LCD screen matching the one on my existing stove. The aesthetics in the kitchen were THAT important to me. After calling Samsung for help, no service/repair folks were available in my area. And other local servicemen within a 300 mile radius frankly didn’t want to work on it, and many said the service call price of labor would make it cost ineffective. Several recommended I just buy a new microwave. Seemed wasteful to me, and after watching a YouTube video I thought why not try it. I figure I saved at a minimum $300, as $350 was the lowest priced microwave that would fit into the space with exhaust, and possibly $600, compared to other brands that met my “must have” categories. For me, getting the cover back on and microwave back into its place was a two-person job, and took up a majority of the effort. But the microwave was a bugger to put in originally, so maybe it’s just me. Anyway, I’m absolutely delighted to be able to keep my matching microwave!

Excellent replacement for over the range Samsung .
Replaced magnetron from 6 year old Samsung ME19R7041FT. New is an original OEM part manufactured in January of 2025. Microwave has been working flawlessly by heating the food properly with a perfect fit all while having a reduced noise level from the transformer.

Probably cheaper and easier than a warranty claim to Samsung
Called about getting a warranty replacement on a microwave magnetron that was 5 years into a 10 year warranty. Rep told me to order a new one and that I could call back and have the cost reimbursed. I thought this sounded suspiciously easy and painless so I confirmed, "Just buy a replacement magnetron off of Amazon and have it installed and you'll reimburse me the cost?" "Yes." I followed the instructions, the part came the next day, I had it installed and I was wowed by how easy it was to get the microwave working again. The part appears to be new, genuine, and works as expected when installed. This morning, I've been on the line with this phone number for hours and they're refusing to reimburse me the cost of the part. I've talked to many different people, many of whom were "supervisors," though I've spent most of my time on hold. They tell me that the information I was given two days ago by their rep was incorrect and they can't find a record of a call (even though "this call is being recorded for quality and training purpose," always). Nobody at Samsung has the authority here to make an exception to their policy so apparently it's my fault for following their instructions and I have to pay for the cost of the replacement. They just keep parroting their policy and offering their condolences. I was also hung up on by them and then they texted me a closed ticket notification after hanging up on me again. Samsung doesn't Care. Total waste of time. That said, it sounds like actually following their process costs hundreds of dollars anyways, so maybe I got off easy. So take note, our Samsung appliance warranties are basically useless. With this in mind, I wouldn't ever buy an appliance from Samsung again.

Don’t buy a new microwave, FIX It with this
Finally after a full week and a half of troubleshooting and replacing other parts finally hit with the problem. Microwave wasn’t heating but was turning on. When it kick to heat would trip my house breaker. Anyways this fixed it and didn’t have to spend almost $400 on a new one. Good price and easy install.

Must have to fix your microwave. If it makes noise but doesn’t heat. Be very careful to replace it. My old one had magnets cracked.

Its been a week and so far working great Samsung ME19R7041FS
The over the counter Samsung microwave thats been going strong since we got it 4 yrs ago stopped heating food and it was making an unusual sound Called Samsung support on this as I was assuming it was the magnetron that went bad and info I had was this was under warranty for 5yrs. Well it is, but only the part. You have to pay for the tech to install it, and a few other fees that makes it not worth it to install. And they would not send it to me so I could do it. So I watched a few youtube videos and am comfortable fixing home appliances. So thought I would give it a go. Honestly, the hardest part in all of this was unmounting it from the wall and then reinstall it. The removal of the magnetron was really easy. Getting to it and taking all the outer screws out on the case was a bit much but totally doable. Just keep them in order as there are different ones. There is a SAFETY ISSUE so you do not electrocute yourself or get seriously injured. I left mine unplugged for 3 days so the capacitor could self discharge. Or there are videos to self discharge this. Also get ready for the grease show. I went though a bunch of cleaning wipes as the outer case and inside had grease all over so good time to get in there and clean it out. And if you have not changed the charcoal filter along the top or cleaned the two filters underneath might be a good time to do that too. Overall aside from waiting the 3 days I had this all done in about an hour.

My microwave started making a horrible buzzing sound and stopped heating. After some research, I found that this was a common failure point for the symptoms I was having. Replacement was relatively easy. About 20 screws total and then the panel comes off and the part is easily accessible. $100 vs $500 for a new unit.

This magnetron cost more than others that I saw. However, this one was identical to the part I removed. There’s nothing worse than getting a part with extra wires or connections. I simply replaced this module and the microwave is good to go. I am only bothered by the fact That the original part only lasted 3 1/2 years. We basically defrost and heat with our microwave. We do not actually cook food so I thought it was a little problematic that this part failed.
