Parmigiano Reggiano Cheese DOP 2 lb

Even though this isn't the longest aged parm it still has some crunchy Tyrosine crystals, much better than the commonly available grocery brands in my area. A genuine parm that you can really taste, stronger in a good way than 'faux' domestic parms and has way better melting qualities than pre-grated canned types which are usually coated with flow agent. Very well packaged in a impact resistant 'cushiony' metal foil insulated bag, arrived with ice pack melted but still very cold, was shipped Feb. 2nd and arrived Feb 5th during winter month so cooler ambient temps probably helped keep package from heating too much. Nice big wedge of cheese in vacuum wrapper, some complain about this cheese having a rind but I prefer that to see the stamped point-of-origin manufacturer and also the best flavors are on the exterior areas of the cheese closer to rind vs. the center cuts, also I utilize the rind in other recipes.UPDATE: I was so impressed by the taste, and price and exceptional packaging of this product I bought more and because it vacuum freezes so well I bought enough to last awhile and was especially happy when the price dropped from 35.98 to 33.98.

Excellent service with great cheese. Dont really use a lot of cheese. But this parmigiana reggiano is the real deal. Love the fruity notes you can taste. My addiction is lays wavy potato chips and slices of reggiano cheese. Great in risotto, pizza, salads etc. and not too salty.

Arrived packed in cold packs and in excellent condition. Tastes incredible.

We’ve ordered a lot of times and it always comes fresh. My husband is from Italy and is high-maintenance and he loves it and my daughter only likes this cheese.

In a moment of wandering attention I accidentally ordered this cheese instead of Frank and Sal's.What a hideous mistake on my part. This tasted like the store brand parmesan from your local supermarket. It had no subtlety, no complexity, no aroma. I couldn't tell it had been aged at all. Instead of being crumbly like well-aged parmesan, it had the texture of a wax crayon.It was not rotten nor moldy, and it was one step above the pre-grated green can cheese. That's about all I can say for it. Without reading the label, I would guess this was Kroger's second best store brand Parmesan.It's tremendously overpriced and mediocre at best. My advice: Be diligent reading Amazon advertisements, and avoid yet another small but annoying disappointment in your life. ;-)

This is the consistently the best Reggianno Parmesano I have ever found for an affordable price. Buying 2 lbs. for one person it never goes to waste, as some of my neighbors are very good cooks and so I always share. I won't buy this anyplace else!!

It was a good Parmesan for the price

The first time I ordered this it came in a box with some sort of insulation to keep it from melting and it was great it tasted great. The second time I ordered it, it came in an amazon bag and was very melted and smelled pretty weird. I decided to try to use it once and it was not good at all. I had to throw it away. Very frustrating that it was delivered that way and ruined.
