A great value for the occassional camper
The AmazonBasics tent is a great value. While lacking some of the features of a much more expensive tent the AmazonBasics tent is a great choice for the occasional camper. Several pictures are provided to illustrate the comments below. What we liked…. -- Generous Space: After setting up we measured a generous 62”tall, 177”wide, by 105” deep. -- Excellent ventilation. Even with the fly on, when all the window are open there is good air flow through the tent. -- The color of the fly provides a very warm and comforting glow inside the tent. -- Privacy without the fly. Even with the fly not attached, the sides of the tent provide privacy while giving you a view of the stars. -- Nice tent pole attachments. The hollow ends of the poles fit into mating pins at the tent base making it very easy to spring up.. -- Seams are double stitched. All the seams have double stitching to add to the strength and the fly has waterproofing tape on each seam to prevent drips. -- Rain guards on the door: The door has additional rain guards around the zippers where water may fall from the fly -- There is an access pocket with velcro closure to bring in outside cords for power etc. -- Fits in carry bag: It was a struggle but we were able to fit the tent back into its carrying bag.The tradeoffs for a value tent. -- Fiberglass poles. Fiberglass poles are cheaper, thicker, break easier and are less ductile then Aluminum. -- Small Shock cords: the shock cords in the poles seem smaller than what Ive seen in other tent poles hence probably not as durable. -- Needs floor saver; Most tents like this, and this AmazonBasic in no exception, have very thin bottoms that will cut easily from rock or twigs. One will need to lay the tent over a heavier protective tarp or floor saver to prevent this. The Bad: -- Tiny Images in the Instructions: The instructions are adequate but some of the diagrams that really help to understand are so small one needs a magnifying glass to view them. -- The cord ends have a plastic device with holes that the metal stakes are supposed to fit through however all three holes of the plastic device have cord inserted so the cord needs to be removed and the cord retied to free up the hole. Conclusion: A great tent for occasional use especially if used with a tent floor saver.

Cheap
Felt very cheap, thin materials, mesh roof so without the rain cover there is no protection from the elements and even with the rain cover the moisture gets in pretty bad and transfers from the rain cover to the mesh and drips inside.

Very large and spacious!
This tent was large enough for an elevated queen air mattress, a pack n play for my son and still had room to walk around!

Good value
Surprisingly spacious inside and sturdy overall. 4 of us fit comfortably with a small table in the center of 2 inflatable beds. I'm 5"5 and could stand in the middle just had to crouch just a tiny bit. The last night of camping we got a storm with lots of wind. We had some water leak inside from the "window" sides. Will have to see if that was just due to the severity of the storm or the actual durability of the tent.

The fiberglass poles are a major weak spot in an otherwise decent tent.
We bought this tent and returned it after less than a month. It got used on several trips during that period and was set up and taken down maybe four times. One of the poles split lengthwise on the last set up. I decided to spend a little more money and get something with aluminum poles.Otherwise than this flaw, it's a good product. It goes up easily, is relatively roomy and offers good value for the money.

Decent tent for the money
I've used this tent multiple times while car camping. It's a good tent. Big enough for 4 people easily on cots leaving enough room for gear and shoes. (Always divide listed tent capacity by 2 for comfort- 8 person = 4 people spread out.) Doesn't have a footprint but a large blue tarp does the trick nicely.Pros: 4 poles but with some practice it only takes one person to set up. Decent materials for under $150. Good ventilation with the amount of mesh. Packs up nicely, and the 8 person is a large wide footprint. Bathtub floor means tarp material come up about 4 inches to increase waterproofing.Cons: decent materials but not high quality as found on name brands. Rain fly doesn't come down very far, and while I've had this out in some light rain I doubt it would withstand a storm. It's low for me and if you're tall, consider how fun it is to change clothes while crouching. Only one door, and the zipper gets caught in the flap every time.If you're looking for a decent entry level tent for car camping that doesn't cost what REI charges, this is a decent option.

fun tent
Took 4 of the kids camping. So there was plenty of room for 5, plus our gear and guns. Good wind break and comfortable in 35 degree weather. Durable floor. Easy to set up and sturdy enough. We didn't have gusty wind so we did not use the anchor cords on the rain fly and had no problem.

Good one with decent price. (Not recommended for rainy and heavy snowfall season)
Pros:Can freely accommodate 4 persons and up to 5 persons also.Quality of the material is good,Easy to carry (the carry bag provided is superb in quality),Easy to install,Good for summer camping.Cons:Not good in heavy snowfall or rainy seasons. The rainfly provided is not 100 percent water proof. Water is coming from the rainfly but it's flowing downwards...Dont worry not coming inside of the tent. Before pack up we have to dry the rainfly on both sides before packing.....other than this issue..the tent good one for summer and gentle snowfall seasons.

Bigger than my shed and great value for money
Enormous, bought for a lads camping weekend that needs to sleep 4. This should get all our kit in as well. Bargain even if it isn’t 100% watertight... we shall find out whilst it’s bedding in, in my garden over the next couple of days!

Holds up well in a storm
We bought this tent for some garden camping during lockdown. It's super easy to put up and we used it during last weeks rain and wind storms. It held up well without any leaks and the kids slept right through.

Good for 2 adults in moderate weather.
This tent is NOT big enough for 4 people but is perfect for 2 adults. Used for a sea fishing trip on 20th Oct 2019. Weather was breezy and we had heavy showers but tent coped admirably. I would not recommend for really bad weather though. My only complaint is that the groundsheet gets wet in the corners from condensation running down the seams, a small hand cloth in each corner put a stop to that. Oh and there is an orange pole that goes across the inside if the fly to keep door and back vent protected that is not mentioned in the instructions

Great tent!
During the heatwave this summer we popped up this tent in our garden to escape the warmed up house and sleeping in it was bliss! The tent is really easy to assemble (and dismantle) and comfortably sleeps three people. We slept without the rain top cover, so we had a lovely view up into the night sky and the stars. I'm so pleased I bought this tent and would recommend so far. I haven't tested it in rain or wind though.
