One of My Favorite Cookbooks
This cook book was put together by the Junior League of Monroe, LA back in 1972. I had had this book for absolute years!! The recipe for Chicken Jerusalem, I couldn’t find the book. Had I loaned it to a friend?? No, it was my favorite!! So, I looked up the recipe on line, made it. Of course it didn’t taste the same and was harder to make, as I remembered parts of the recipe. Went to Amazon to look for the book, WELLA, there it was!!!!!!! In rereading it, there are many more recipes now that I am anxious to try!! My life is complete again. Thank you Amazon for having this phenomenal cook book.

Great Southern Recipes
This cookbook is a classic! My friend had a copy that was passed down to her from family members during the '70s. When I perused the recipes, I knew I had to have a copy. The chicken and dessert recipes are fantastic. Those are my favorite things to cook, so that is what sold it for me. However, there are yummy recipes for other meats as well. I highly recommend this cookbook!

My Favorite Cookbook -- and Soon To Be Yours!
Hands down, my favorite cookbook. The Cotton Country Collection was gifted to my grandmother decades ago and has been a staple in our family kitchens ever since. This book truly takes you back in time, and exudes "Old South" hospitality throughout, just as I remember it in my grandmother's kitchen and dining room. Many of these recipes/contents are staples, while others are veritable gems you won't find anywhere else (e.g., Mrs. Don Irby's "seafood crepe pie" or George Smellings's pages-long discussion of game meats). What's more, there is something here for every occasion; the CCC has gotten me through dinner parties, casual luncheons, summer suppers, and plenty of those spur-of-the-moment snacks and treats. My mother bought me a copy when I went off to college and a couple of my friends and I eventually worked through the entire cookbook over the course of our four years -- and in the process, produced several new CCC devotees. So many fun memories to be had. Oh, and beyond just the food, the book itself is so charmingly elegant. The little illustrations and watercolor prints are works of art. There's just no other way to put it: this one is a nonpareil, and I'm so glad to see it remains readily available in print.
