This is my first time to review this it's not worth 185 dollars because the mandrel is not as you wished I'm so disappointed about the mandrel the mandrel is more brief than the mandrel showing on the photo

I LOVE this oboe reed kit. It may be more expensive than other reed kits on Amazon, but that is because it actually comes with all the tools you really need to make an oboe reed. It even comes with a few pieces of cane and staples!I looked at several of kits before deciding on this one. Most of them only came with a knife, mandrel, cutting block and plaque. That's great if you are just learning to scrape on a reed first, but if you want learn the rest of the reed making process, you'd have to go out and buy more tools. But this one has everything!The knife is the nicest quality I've seen and the carrying case holds all the items.I recommend this kit to everyone who is starting out to make oboe reeds.
