WITH TWO HANDS is a powerful missionary story about the work of God in Ethiopia int he mid to late 1900s. The book follows Australian missionary Dick McLellan and the Ethiopian Christians God saved through McLellan's ministry.Readers will be amazed at the Providence of God in paving the way for the Gospel of Jesus Christ through visions and prophecies that came to villagers who had never heard of the One True God. Over and over again, we read of instances where a missionary or evangelist arrives at a remote village only to learn that the people there were waiting for just such an occasion because of a long-ago prophecy. These remarkable "coincidences" strengthen the reader's faith as he sees how God works to bring His word to those who have never heard.Importantly, the Word of God is central--those who believe do so because of the Word of God, not because there was a prophecy of a white man coming or a vision of gold leaves (a Bible whose pages have gold-colored edges). They believe when they hear the story of Jesus Christ and His saving power.Children will thrill to stories of witch-doctors whose fear of demons and whose cruel manner of life melt away once they meet the Savior. Christians are miraculously protected from harm, seemingly impossible obstacles disintegrate, and hardened adversaries come to Christ.This book is a good read-aloud for children. I read it to my children, but often got choked up and had tears running down my cheeks, so it might have been better (in my case!) to let the kids read this one on their own. Or get Dad (or someone who won't blubber through the stories) to read it.

We absolutely loved this book! It broadened our faith and encouraged us all to press on, trusting God no matter what we face. It reinforced for all of us that our lives are not in our own hands, and that nothing can take our lives until we have completed our purpose on this earth. This was an excellent addition to our homeschool study of the country of Ethiopia! All five kids, ages 5-16, plus mom were thoroughly engaged. Highly recommend.

WOW!!! Praise the Lord!! We are soooo thankful for Godly resources like this! We have started reading the kids bedtime stories again, something we had gotten away from because they outgrew picture books. ALL of them love this special time together! We read 1 chapter at night and do the questions at the end of the book. Not only are the kids learning and "seeing" God's hand at work (it is PRECIOUS seeing their faces when they realize how God worked in each situation, chapter after chapter), my husband and I are also having our faith bolstered!!! We LOVE this book and the blessed time it has been for our family. God has blessed all the work of your hands, Rebecca...thank you!

This was an excellent family devotional. It really started some good conversations about God and His power... the kids loved it and have asked to read all in this series

Wow! This book has been such a joy to read at dinner together as a family. I grew up overseas with missionary parents and the stories bring back many memories. My children have been so blessed -- teens all the way down to kindergarten age. Inspiring true stories about the beauty of the gospel for people so desperate for the freedom only God can give...you will love it!

Definitely written for children but able to deliver a powerful and encouraging message.

This is probably our favorite in the series because my daughter was adopted from Ethiopia and our entire family has spent time there! We love to hear how the Gospel made it to the rural area in Ethiopia!

Beautiful stories!!! I could read it over and over! God is truly at work in Ethiopia. I recommend this book.

We've read this aloud to our kids while playing lego and ended up with all lego dumped and kids sitting on sofa glued to the stories, and then the book stolen and found with a boy wrapped up with it in bed at night. Great stories - inspiring, faith growing, joyful, exciting. The writing is excellent and we thoroughly recommend this author.

Very uplifting stories, encouraging for people of all ages.These are very easy to read books. Good for teaching yourchildren to have faith and always trust in God.
