Wifi printer renders useless
I'm sad to give a mixed review, I thought this little guy would power up my desktop with wifi just as good as my phone, small laptop, etc. Here are the main points:Installation was easy, I'll give you that. The included disk worked great, and I appreciated the suggestion to download fr om their website and transfer via USB drive. The connection strength in our medium-sized apartment was mediocre at best. I moved the desktop into our living room where the router is and the antenna worked great. On the other end of our apartment, in our office, it got 5 MBPS or less. Not ideal, but still functional. The killer was that the instant we powered up our wifi printer, it absolutely KILLED this antenna's ability to connect to wifi on either band (2.4 and 5 GH). After multiple tests over several days, it seems those 2 devices simply are not compatible in the same space. We bought a $20 cable and ran it instead. Our printer has never interfered with 3 other laptops or any smartphone we've had in the apartment before this. I know I've heard of wifi printers causing troubles for some devices, but I wish I knew why it happened here and not elsewhere. It's an HP printer and connects to the router, not to a computer directly.Lastly, the antenna is a bit bulky and crowded out using the 4 USB ports in the back of the desktop. One cable I had did fit above it, but other devices were not able to fit next to or above the antenna in neighboring ports. I presume a slim cable extender could do the trick, but that's one more item to buy and keep track of.

No more WiFi dropping in Windows 10
I saw this NET-DYN USB Wireless WiFi Adapter, and was intrigued and hopeful. Our cable-based WiFi is upstairs I know, dumb move we did years ago) and we have 2 laptops that each of us use in our favorite seats downstairs. Unfortunately, the place where I sit, gets the weakest WiFi signal and it drives me nuts. I have to frequently re-boot to get the WiFi picked up, sometimes as many as 10 times in a row, and even have to hold my computer up in the air to see if that would help it pick up the signal. Very annoying and cuts down on my productiveness.I've had another WiFi adapter but never even tried it as I wasn't sure how to set it up, since it came with minimal instructions. The NET-DYN was very easy to set up, and has has been a class-act from the beginning. Comes with a very informative and easy to follow color Installation Guide, and a CD-ROM with the driver. If you are like me, and your device has no CD-ROM Drive, there are detailed instructions in the first of 3 emails from NET-DYN -- "send to ensure that your USB WiFi adapter meets with all of your expectations. " with easy to follow instructions for downloading The driver from their website. I did all of that and was impressed that my speed increased by quite a bit. I did about 5 speed tests prior, and about 5 after, and the "after" tests were all faster in all areas every time. Best Part: the WiFi hasn't dropped once since setting it up. I was seriously considering buying a new laptop because I really need reliable WiFi for my business ventures. After writing the above review, I plugged the adapter in to test again and am now getting an error message (I am running Windows 10) that there is a conflict with the WiFi access point, blah blah (couldn't read the whole thing before it goes away). The speed has slowed down and I need more time to figure out why. So taking away a star, for now. WiFi still not dropping every few minutes so I am more than willing to fix the WiFi conflict issue. Will update my review when I fix it, since it will hopefully help others that might get the same message.*First photo was my average speed w/o NET-DYN (and prior to discovering the snip tool), and the other was the speed I got right after using for the first time, and prior to the conflict message, and the speed going down.* I can't see the first photo so in case it didn't get attached to my review here are the numbers: Download 89.8 Mbps Upload 12.0 Mbps 16 latency

Lasted four years but had spotty connection
I bought this in March 2018 and generally liked it at first. It was easy to install and worked immediately. However, after a year it started to go downhill. The internet connection was spotty even though I would have other desktops with other WiFi adapters installed that connected fine. When it did connect, it took a few minutes for the WiFi to finally work. It finally got to a point that it wouldn't connect to the internet at all.

Plug and Play with Win10 Pro. Connection speed now 4X what it was.
I purchased this to use with a Lenovo laptop that did not have good connection speed with built in wireless. I had a couple of older USB wireless adapters from name brand companies but on 2.4G (my extender frequency) the best speed I could get with them was about 20Mbps.This adapter installed in seconds and download speed at same location now 80Mbps which is fine for my needs. When in 5G range download speed of this adapter reaches ISP limit of 150Mbps.I only gave 4 stars because the size and shape of this adapter can block adjacent USB ports. On my laptop the ports are oriented vertically and the adapter cannot be inserted into the USB ports when the laptop is on a flat surface.I solved the problem by using a high quality short USB 3.0 extension cable. I first tried an inexpensive generic USB cable I had lying around but it did not work.I would recommend this to others. It is the best USB wireless adapter I have used to date.

Fast adapter, easy to install but you may have to reboot your router.
Others have written about getting this unit to work with Win 10 and initially I thought that I had a similar problem. I loaded the driver and the additional software from the small disk but although it connected to the router it did not connect to the internet. However I uninstalled the disc driver and let Windows find its own driver and after I rebooted my router the adapter worked flawlessly, as good if not better than the PCIe device that it replaced. Consistent fast speeds after I used a USB3 extension cord to take the dongle away from the back of my tower PC and above the desktop. No lags on Skype now so I am very pleased with this unit.

absolutely superb & so easy to install
absolutely superb & so easy to install.just plugged it into usb socket & after it found the modem, all i needed to do was put the pw in & that was it.i get full wi-fi when no one else is using it (the modem is down stairs) & 1 bar less when others are & for people wondering if its powerful enough to play mmo's, it certainly is. i still get 90+fps using this piece of kit playing wow/ffxiv.cant recommend this enough.

Not for beginners but its amazing when correctly configured.
It took some time to correct configure this bitch but now its working fine(I still have to mannualy configure the router and this adpter).- I had to manually setup the connection to the correct bandwidth and frequency using "advance" connection configuration to achieve 5GHz and 867Mbs connection's speed.- I also had to change routers/AP configuration to work with AC connections( pre configured to normal 2.4GHz frequency). Its not a adapter for begginers(you will have to change routers and manually setup the device to work at its best, good luck) but worth the money.

Small problems but working fine.
I am on Windows 10 and I plugged it in and Windows itself found the driver. I then tried to install the driver and utility on the disk but then it did not work. I went onto the manufacturers web site, downloaded the updated file and it worked fine.No other problems and it gives great range and speed. Other than the small glitch an excellent WIFI adaptor.

Fast and easy to instal
This is my third adapter. The other two worked for a short time, then failed. This one seems robust and is giving me much better download and upload speeds. I've made it 4 stars because it took a fortnight to arrive. It was not made clear that this item comes from overseas.
