The bolt appears well made. You get everything you need to fit the lock including drill bits to make the hole. The screws are a star shape. Comes with easy to follow instructions. I chose one which you only have to lock from the outside. Makes life easy if you have to open from you back garden side as it has a knob you turn.

What a well made lock, its easy to install, has drill bit and security bits that is great. The bolt is extra thick and long, one dig that I didn't like is that my gate is up against a wall and the bolt has to go all the way in to lock from the key side otherwise the key doesn't come out. Had to drill big hole in my render. I'm not sure about the picking of the lock and how many pins it has and if it has fause sets or security pins, but that's a whole nother thing. The key indicates a 4 pin and only one high point, that indicated a very low security lock. I might be wrong, but looks this way. The euro lock cannot be changed as per my phone call to the makers, that would be a much better feature if they can do this, then I can put in a 3 star 6 pin euro lock, that id feel a lot better with. But other than that problems ive indicated in my review, is is a very well made gate lock and very solid, but swap out euro lock would be great.

Brought this lock for gate security but, also more of a visual deterrent than actual security because if someone wanted to they could easier climb up and over my standard 5ft garden gate and 6ft wall. However. The fact that the lock is fitted hopefully will help deter the opportunistic "no-good" passing by. The lock is very easy to fit for anyone who can use a electric drill and electric (or manual) Screwdriver. The two drills required to fit the lock are also both supplied with the kit. Nice touch, although most general DIYers would have these I'm sure. The adhesive template that comes with this also makes location of drilling the screwholes and lock barrel so very simple. Comes with 5 keys. Another good thing is that these locks can be fitted to either a left or right opening gate. There are cheaper locks on the market but, I wanted a quality product and the "Gatemate" that I purchased, item No. 1490086 had very good reviews generally and was the same price on their own web site. I did read some reviews stating that over time the stainless steel bolt tends to stick but, I don't expect this to happen as the bolt mount has ample room to enter and it even has a plastic "wedge" type spring inside to press against the bolt when engage to stop it from rattling but, time will tell if this is an issue. If it is, I'll update this review then. I installed it on Sunday 25th Oct 2023. If the date you are reading this is a long time passed this date then this review still stands as is. Overall I'm very pleased with this gate lock.

Works well, sturdy lock. However, they may as well not supply the two drill bits as they’re useless!

Have to work like that? 😕Just big careful I ordered 50 mm, but our gate need a 70 mm. I sent it back and ordered an other. But it is my fault, the product is strong and good. All with instructions and bits what you need.

The product looks well built and looks to be well finished and that's all.The key operates the euro profile cylinder on the front of the gate as expected. However, it is possible to to just simply reach over the gate and open the lock by sliding the bolt freely and easily to open the lock mechanism. Basically the locking bolt is not deadlocked in position with the key. In my opinion, by definition this renders the "lock" useless and really a lock at all. It is merely a bolt operated by a key that gives no more protection than a latch bolt fitted on a gate. Would be thieves can reach over a gate and open both in the same way.After challenging the UK supplier direct they say that this is how the lock is designed to work? Unbelievable really.Don't waste your money. Get a cheap latch bolt instead because this offers the same level of security.
