Nostalgic and deeply entertaining at the same time
I still remember how as a kid, almost every day during 4th grade, I used to watch episode Teen Titans at around 6:30 p.m. every evening right after finishing my homework on Cartoon Network. After watching a few episodes, it instantly became one of my favorite television show ever -- it was extremely creative, action-packed, unique and featured a wide diversity of rich and engaging teenage characters whose human struggles and foibles were often very easy to relate to, introducing me to the DC Universe, and was what probably started my long-term addiction to the superhero genre in the first place.Even today, so many years after elementary school, I still look back and fondly remember those memories and cherish them. On a more serious note, this season of Teen Titans is probably the most carefully constructed as well as having the darkest and most mature themes of all five, almost reminiscent of a horror film; it is for good reason that among fans, it is frequently called the best season ever made.It basically revolves around the struggles of the Titans' most mysterious and secretive character, Raven, whose background and heritage have always been hidden even from her friends. Slade, the oldest arch-enemy of the Titans has somehow returned in the service of a new and powerful master, targeting Raven as an infernal prophecy concerning her role in ending the world is revealed. Despite the Titans' best efforts, Raven is seemingly sacrificed and the greatest evil ever known is unleashed upon the world of mortals...but is all hope truly lost? All in all, I think Raven's last words in the season are perhaps most fitting: "In the end, I guess there really is no end -- just new beginnings."

Teen Titans Complete Fourth Season
Any hardcore or casual fan of DC Comics Superheroes (Batman, Robin, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lanturn, etc) will want to own and expierence this show, and this is by far its best season without question. Hardcore and casual fans of Bruce Timm's Animated Batman world should also pick up Teen Titans season 4 (as well as 1-3, and 5 if it's out) because the same principle applies. As Bruce Timm and his entire ensamble reimagined and updated Batman stories, that is what Glen Murakami did with the Teen Titans. Every character, story, and scene establishes this show as truly unique. You have fun with the characters as they laugh, worry when they're in danger, and feel every blow of every fight sequence.Glen and his team have taken a historic period in DC Comics history, of which NO ONE should be unaware, and created his own vision. A bright, sunny, west coast city, with unique art, colors, and some quirky anime manurisms which really grow on you. I recommend starting off with the first season, so the fourth has an even bigger impact than it would alone, but either way this is a must have. For owners of previous seasons, the only thing that might throw you off is that there is no paper inside the box listing the episodes. They are listed on the back cover instead. The episodes range from dramatic and powerful to silly Scooby Doo and back again, similar to previous seasons. What stands out about season four, however, is that the season's main plot is the show's most epic yet.

Please sir, can I have some more?
At first I wanted to write this show off due to what I considered poor animation (or styling at least). I grew up in the 80s when most cartoons, though filled with fantastically unreal characters, were animated in a realistic style as opposed to super deformed or comically proportioned toons. But my love of the Teen Titans forced me to give it a chance and once you accept that Murakanime (named for producer Glen Murakami's mixed style of US and Japanese animation) is great in its own right, you will see that the writing and characterizations are excellent! This series brought to life characters I have read about since I was eight. The voice casting was perfect and now I cant read anything with these chacters without hearing the voices portrayed in this series. There is also an innocent fun and lightheartedness to the series evenly mixed with a certain complexity to the characters; they are fun, yet also "deep". It swells my heart to have found a series that both revitalizes my love of superheroes and kid's cartoons to where here we are at the fourth season and I am still eating up all the DCU easter eggs and cameos and super storytelling. I think there's one more season and I would love to learn that the show will one day be re-upped for future productions, but in the mean time I will enjoy what I have here! I hope that one day my kids will be able to enjoy this show as much as I do.
