Best catheter holder
This is probably the best available catheter holder. It doesn't pull or get out of position due to the lock in clasp. Adhesion could be better. The skin prep pad helps it adhere to the skin but it doesn't last as long as it did in the past. The ends of the sticky patch start to lift by the second week but I am able to trim it enough to get my monies worth out of it.

Home care nurse turned me onto this product.
I’ve been using this product ever since a home care nurse from my insurance company turned me onto it. I’ve been using it since January and it does the trick. I use it to clean the spot where my catheter tube enters my body. It’s kept the area clean of infection. I have no complaints!

Extremely pleased!
This was absolutely perfect! After a 3 week surgery recovery, I was placed on a 3 week recovery extension. Unfortunately, the previous leg sticker/holder was coming off. I held it in place with tape, but that was a nightmare during bedtime. I ordered this item and it was 100 times better. This holder was more comfortable and provided quality adhesion. Definitely recommend! It is not the same item pictured...it is much better

Best cath holder but does not work with Medline silicone catheters unless careful modifications are made.
The Bard Cathlock holder for Silicone foley catheters is the best I've found thank goodness. It does not tear off or let go even if a medium size dog gets tangled in the line which is a really good test! I had them in the hospital and it made having the catheter not such a big deal. Once I was home I had access only to lousy cloth and velcro things that came apart sometimes as I was putting them on. Then I had to get medipore tape to tape them in place and strengthen them. That lasted about a day and going through one or more of those $5.50 (at the local medical supply store) cath secure patches was getting expensive between the failures and poor designs. I was really glad to find these available on Amazon. They work great. The only thing is they are too small for the MEDLINE brand of silicone foley catheters. We found this out as Medline is the only brand our home care agency has in it's formularly. My husband used a dremal cone shape grinding bit to grind away enough of the plastic (very carefully) so it would hold the catheter and also we took a very thin strip of medipore tape to secure the latch. It worked fine. They will last a week or two at least. They make traveling, walking, getting up and out of bed and into bed much much easier. They never failed on me. I think there may be less expensive places to get them so look around. For me the price to get a few was well worth it. I still have one left.

The best choice of a holder especially with a long term 24/7 need.
My prostate problems has led to the near permanent insertion (24/7) of a Foley catheter. This is the product to hold the Foley catheter. The best part is that it swivels easing if not eliminating any unwanted pull. It may seem a little on the expensive side, but I have looked at other devices and tried a couple - the StatLock is the best. The instructions are lacking. Check the pdf at this site for decent instructions. [...]Notice that there is a 'y' for the catheter to fit into. I was fortunate that I was given this type of holder by the nurse, thus I was able to copy the installation. Of course once it is done - subsequent times are easy. The literature says to change it every 7 days. I don't know about that. Even buying in bulk might get too expensive. Amazon seems to have the less expensive single purchase price. But buy in quantity to get the most out of the shipping charge.

Adhesive needs "help”
To keep from replacing the Statlock and help my budget, I have my caregivers use plastic tape to hold the edges of the Statlock down. This is because the caregiver who usually gives my shower can be “aggressive” around the 2 of them.I really like the flexibility and comfort the swivel provides.

Not the item pictured.
The image shows a fabric based Statlock, which is more durable and lasts longer, usually around a week. I recieved a foam based Statlock, which is coming off after only 12 hours. To be fair, the description does state this item is foam based.
