Safe fun
May be it's weird, but I've never really understood face painting, it's fun, to be more specific. I just can't see the fun in children queueing during events and"artists" using the same brush for everyone. May be because I have a very sensitive skin with eczema myself and spend lots of money on treatment and control of it. My kid, unfortunately, inherited this unpleasant stuff from me. Signing up for the nursery, we especially refused from any face painting during events or celebrations. However, growing up, my kid has been getting really upset seeing how other children have face painting. One of his favourite episodes of Peppa Pig is about tiger face painting Mrs Rabbit did for Peppa and George... I just decided to give it a try and to do a facepainting for him myself. I've selected quite expensive paints, which claimed to be non-toxic, hypoallergenic, etc. I was really worried anyway and did a skin patch test. After having no reaction, we had a try-out of our Halloween vampire make up. Actually, I loved this set as it has lots of great looking Halloween stencils. No I DO understand the fun of it. My kid was soooooo happy and running around that it took me many hours to get him to the bathtoom to wash this out!!! It washes out better than some types of ice-cream. No scrubbing was involved. We did it on Saturday, and after 3 days - no skin reaction, no signs of eczema coming or anything. I'm so relieved! My kid is Halloween, birthday's parties ready and doesn't feel like he's the one not alllowed to have this fun anymore. Happy.
