A little thin , but it didn’t break and it’s easy to store

This outdoor Christmas display is just what I hoped for. I did have a delivery problem in that the letter J was missing, but I called and they sent it out right away. I found it easy to work with this company.

I’ve wanted one of these yard signs for years to put up at Christmas. The material it’s constructed from is very sturdy. Assembling and installation was simple. I like that the rod on the back is very secure, especially on windy evenings! And it’s a very good size. Large enough to see from the road but not so big that storage will be an issue.

Very well pleased with our "J-O-Y" sign. Had dozens of compliments on the decoration, many of which came from people do not live in our neighborhood, and wanted to know where they could get one. It was the only one in our small (3500) town this year, although a Teak Isle Manger Scene, with the same center manger display that is in the "O" of the "JOY" sign, is located about a block away. We did not want to "copy" our friends, so we chose the "JOY" sign. Both the "JOY" sign and manger display can be complemented with separate "angels", "camels", "wise men", etc., which we intend to do next year. We changed all our outside decorations to LED this year, and the cost was substantial. The rods which support the letters are solid aluminum, and will not rust and corrode from sitting in wet ground, a big PLUS! (I used a 16" flat punch and a 3 lb. hand maul to drive the rods, to avoid hitting the plastic letters with the hammer and breaking or damaging them.) We placed our "JOY" sign on one side of the front yard by itself, where its spiritual message would not compete with our "secular" decorations, which included LED rope light reindeer family and GE animated rope-light, "light-show," "Christmas Trees" (which we found at Lowe's, $70 each). It's message came through loud and clear, especially the large, sharply-defined "JOY" and manger shadow which was projected on our light-colored brick wall, which was very eye-catching, even though there is no animation like the decorations on the other side of the yard. I bought a 2500-lumen "HUSKY" indoor/outdoor work light (with a floor stand) at Home Depot ($40) which illuminated the sign perfectly from a distance of about 10-12 ft. in front of the sign (the 3500-lumen bright-white work light would probably have been "overkill", besides costing $20 more). I also bought, of all things, a black hard-rubber horse feeding trough ($15) at Tractor Supply, designed to hang on the top of a fence, to place the light in to keep it out of rain. The light fit perfectly into the trough with the floor stand removed. I did this because the light is NOT WEATHERPROOF, and can be shorted out or ruined by direct rain (the little splashing it received on the front lens did not hurt it at all). A FULLY WEATHERPROOF LED outdoor light would have cost more than $150, and does not come with a cord which can be plugged in, it would have to be hard-wired. The work light and feeding trough to protect it cost far less than a weatherproof light, and worked fine, even through repeated heavy rains. (Some moisture condensed on the inside of the lens when raining and the light was not on, but quickly dried out and disappeared when the light came on.) The light does not get hot enough that you can't lay your bare hand on it, and was in no danger of setting the rubber horse feeding trough on fire. I was sort of proud of my solution to lighting the "JOY" sign. Didn't cost an arm and a leg, and did the job brilliantly with no problems whatsoever. The only drawback was that we had to keep our dining room mini-blinds closed at night to prevent the very bright LED work light from shining on our dining room and den ceilings! :) We are very pleased with the "JOY" sign, it is UV-resistant plastic and won't rot or need painting (the color goes all the way through). Except for the price, which is pretty steep, considering that this is an un-lit decoration and I have been on a disability pension for 28 years, we are very satisfied with our "JOY" sign, and we feel the sign is worth it for the spiritual message it conveys, which after all, is the "reason for the season" of Christmas. We look forward to adding some of the other related pieces to the sign next Christmas. Even when pushed back up into the rubber horse trough to protect it, the LED work light has plenty of spread to illuminate them as well.

The plastic is a great grade and sturdily put together. It looks wonderful and easy to install. As noted if necessary the plastic brackets would be easy to switch out with metal at the hardware store if there is every anything wrong there and the thing that sold us was the fact that it can easily fit in a small flat box and not take up a lot of room any other time of year. I love finding the nativity in the word Joy instead of just the word. Christ brings joy to all.

Easy to assemble, sturdy, good size. We live 60 yards from the street & this shows up perfectly! Just what I was looking for to put in my yard.
