Beautiful deck and imagery, printed on high-quality card stock!
Beautiful tarot deck! The artistry of the images is colorful, imaginative and full of symbolism. I choose my decks on the basis of whether I am comfortable with the imagery and I made a connection with these images even before I ordered the deck. I like that many of the images are race-neutral, meaning the characters pictured are not just of European ethnicity like the traditional Rider-Waite and classic Marseilles decks. I have both the Rider-Waite and Marseilles decks and was looking for something more a little more inclusive of all ethnicities when I came across this deck during my search. Julia Turk's symbolic style reminds me a bit of the imagery on the Thoth Tarot and this deck is most certainly destined to be one of my favorites. Some of the names on the cards deviate slightly from the traditional Rider-Waite, but shouldn't be difficult to get used to. The cards are printed on semi-heavy high-quality card stock and not so slick that they slip or bend when shuffling. In my deck, the individuals cards were "stuck" together when I unwrapped them. I'm assuming this was because of the printing process and some settling during shipment and I was able to separate them easily. They are heavy enough that they should hold up very well through many years of use and shuffling. Also, don't pay the ridiculous prices some sellers are asking for this deck. I ordered it at a much cheaper price directly from The Guiding Tree, who is also an Amazon seller here, and the profits benefit the artist directly.

Julia is a true Tarot Master
The tarot deck I purchased first, the book came out later. I have been a tarot reader for many years, and while the non traditional decks (such as this one) creat an opportunity for a more intuitiver reading, at that time I will admit I wasn't too geared for that. However, that has changed over the years, I have become more and more interested in Kabballa and it's symbolism in conjunction to tarot is obvious. julia with her unique artwork got me interested (for the first time) in the kabballa, and it's cornerstone to the systems of magick I have explored have made this a must have. The book shows you the artists interpretation of the Major arcana, the court cards, the pips and how on the tree of life they relate to each of us and to each other. While I don't think I would recommend this if you are just learning tarot, I have to say that it is a necesssary addition to any serious tarot practioner's collection.

This Version vs. US Games Version: Minor, but important for some
Cool wacky deck - only difference between this and the US Games produced version (seems to me anyway) is that this one has the artist's name at the bottom of the front of the tuck box, and on each card. On each card it says in small print (copyright symbol) Julia Turk - it seems less intrusive than the (copyright symbol) US Games Systems. So if you don't want to trim your deck, and you'd rather have it say Julia Turk than US GAMES SYSTEMS, I'd say go with this version, even though it's a couple bucks more than the US Games one. Sacred Seed on YouTube has a full review.

This item is just the book...
I just got this book. I thought it was a set but it's not. Anyway, the book has B&W pics of every card together with the card's meaning and symbolism. They are very artistic and full of symbols. I would reccommend the deck just from what I've seen in the book. They are based on the Kabbala system, like the Thoth Tarot Deck which I already have. I think the Thoth cards are more artistic, but the books you can get for the Thoth deck are not as informative or as easy to use or interpret. I think that a Tarot beginner would be better off with the Navigators Deck and book.

Beautiful Deck!
Navigator’s of the Mystic Sea is a brilliantly colored and fully illustrated deck. The cards each have a keyword on top to help aid in the interpretation. I absolutely love this deck! The artwork is unique and the colors are fabulous! Although I wouldn’t call this a Rider Waite clone, there are some similarities that anyone familiar with Tarot should have no problem reading with this deck.
