OM Digital Solutions 202031 H-512 MB xD-Picture Card (Retail Package)

Bought this a while back, several years ago. Just reviewing now. If they even make this anymore and you want one, it does work fine and allows us to take full speed video on our Olympus camera. Technology changes so quickly and memory sizes keep increasing. 512MB almost seems a joke today, but in reality we've never even come close to using it up with our 3 megapixel camera.

The H type xD card is noticeably faster and more responsive than the M type in my Fuji F30 camera. I bought the H first and got used to it with my new camera. When I purchased the M style card later, I found it to be slower between when the shutter button is pushed and the picture pops up on the screen. The M card works like a slow eye blink, where the H xD card responds immediately and snappy.The only benefit I could see in buying the older M style memory card is that some USB download drives don't work with the faster H style, so DO check to see if the H is compatible before you buy a USB download drive.

When ever I say this item is as cheap as it gets, one day later I see it elsewhere, cheaper.In this case I don't care if its cheaper (although I doubt it). These cards provide an excellent opportunity to use my three cameras that take this card. Don't be confused when you see that a 1G will not work on your camera. I have found it excellent to take a lot of photos and then switch cameras already loaded.One final thought, this purchase was for three (3), never thought I'd see 3 for less than one a year or so again!

I ordered two 512MB high speed picture cards to use on my forthcoming cruise. The cards worked very well, as expected. They came formatted and ready to use. I did notice a slight speed improvement in recording the pictures, but not as fast as I would've hoped. Perhaps the fault lies in my Olympus C-7000 camera. I also liked the picture card holder that came in the package, which had slots for storing six memory cards.I found the packaging the cards came in to be very difficult to open, actually dangerous, since one can be easily cut by the sharp edges of the plastic packaging while cutting it open with scissors. It is for this reason I give this product four stars instead of five.

First of all Amazon asked me to write a review of a product that THEY think I bought but I didnt. I purchased (or thought I was buying) a 512 MB card and when I got it it was an M512MB card so right off the bat Amazon had it wrongly labeled on their site! THen I found out that the Olympus Stylus410 camera I had wouldnt take the M or H card. In fact it was the ONLY camera in the olympus line that Olympus never upgraded! I even called Olympus customer "nonservice" "nonsatisfaction" line and they were NOT NICE! They said in fact you are "SOL" but I wont type that out yet. Didnt even give me an incentive to buy a new camera. So what did I do? I bought a CANON!If you are buying one of these card- check with the owner to make sure that WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET. Because it wasnt with my purchase

I called Olympus to inquire about use of a 1 GB xD card in my Stylus 410 and was informed that the 512 MB card was the maximun my camera could accept. So I bought the H-512 xD card, only to find out after it arrived and after calling Olympus again that the special features of the card do not function in my Stylus 410 (however, I haven't verified this by testing it myself). The card seems to store pictures and transfer them to my computer okay. Bottom line: no need to buy the more expensive H-512 card for your Stylus 410 when the standard one will do.
