Superb Quality at a Fraction of The Cost Of “Designer” Brand Edgers
I’ve no complaints, only praise for these excellent edge tools. Received a 2mm for Christmas and after using it I ordered the 4mm. Finish and fit are on par with much more expensive edgers and exceed some notable brands. Mine arrived highly polished on every surface and very sharpe. Cutting surfaces are symmetrical and most certainly have been stropped prior to my receiving them. Periodic stropping has kept them extremely sharp. Handles appear to be ebony and are very nicely finished. The edge tools are slightly angled and very easy to use. It is not unusual to edge completely around a large journal cover making one long tiny spiral of leather. Cuts are smooth and clean with no roughness at all. While I would love to source my tools from the USA, having to spend 5-8 times the cost of these edgers just to get equal quality is just not in my budget. I’ll pass these down to my grandchildren.

Great Buy - Not Beginner Friendly
This is a great purchase, but may not be for beginners despite the price. They edge beveler is very solid and works per design. However, it takes some finesse when working the edges. A steady, slow hand is required. Be careful to use it with the right leather. Otherwise, if you know how to bevel, this is a great product for the price point.

great price
These work very well. As good as some of the other more expensive edgers.

Incredible Quality
I love it when something comes along for a reasonable price - Not cheap, but not expensive enough to break the bank either - and just screams quality and class. The entire line of Owden hand tools has been nothing short of brilliant. They are classy, stylish, and best of all... SHARP.

Barely knocks the corner off
The #1 edge beveler works, but it’s awfully fine. The same result can be achieved with a single swipe of sandpaper, so what’s the point? The corner is not noticeably different after beveling. Learn from my experience and go with a #2. Quality seems adequate, but it’s hard to assess when I can’t tell the difference after I use it.

That's what I needed to do!
For the price the tool is good quality. It does what I needed to do. I could use it easy enough right out of the box, but of course I strop in between projects, and as I go, to keep the beveler sharp.

Great more budget friendly edger
Fit and finish is decent enough, although the grind on the reverse side isn't perfect it still does its job well. Compared to the absolute garbage that comes in a cheap kit, this edger makes edging nice and consistent out of the box.I have the #1 version and it takes off about 0.6-0.7mm off the edge. The photo shows the shavings on a 5-6oz leather piece. I can definitely recommend this for hobbyists.
