An easy way to identify a man of refined taste and sophistication is by how they transport their materials. A ruffian will just throw all of his papers, pens and other ephemera into a backpack or--even worse--a shopping bag. A man of distinction will have all of his materials in a proper means of conveyance. At one point, this meant a high end briefcase. Today, the briefcase suggests that the carrier is a 'paper pusher' and not a 'decision maker'. Instead, a serious thinking man carries one or more smaller pieces of a more targeted purpose. This portfolio is an example of this. It feels extremely well made using high quality leather. This isn't leather 'for show'--it's meant for durability and should become more attractive as it ages. The interior is thoughtfully designed with a variety of slots and pockets. It's not possible to design a portfolio that will be perfectly configured for everyone, but this one offers a number of options that can be adapted to different purposes. The zipper is well made and durable. Credit to the manufacturer for using a more subdued metal when it would have been easy to have gone with something shiny and brassy. This portfolio exudes understated good taste and refinement. I haven't decided what I'm going to put in this as of yet, but it'll lend itself to any number of uses. This is a beautiful portfolio that would make a great gift or an excellent addition to your 'daily carry'.
