This new LED closet light is a direct replacement for an incandescent light that has been used in boats and RVs for many years. The old one was prone to melting if left on too long due to the heat from the bulb but now with LED technology, that problem is gone! The geometry of the mounting bracket is identical to the old one but the light itself is less bulky. If you have a closet or compartment light that looks like the rectangular cage light pictured (click More Info above to see a picture), this is an easy replacement. Two high output white LEDs are aimed slightly down and protected by a clear lens to provide ample light. Light mounts with 2 screws (included) in either of 2 different positions for easy installation. The plunger switch lights the LEDs when door is opened, turns them off when closed. Sturdy black housing looks good and withstands the bumping it gets in a closet. 2 wire installation, low .042 amp draw at 12V. Dimensions: Overall width of bracket - 2-1/8" Depth of bracket, door closed - 3/4" Depth of light (into closet) - 1-3/4" Light width - 2-1/8" This is a better, safer replacement for old cage-style incandescent closet lights!

All in one light, switch and mount.
Easy to mount in various locations. Wiring easy. How far plunger switch requires to push in to turn light off needed to be determined prior to install. The only drawback for me was the amount of light emitted was a little low. I would say it would be fine for a closet, but I used it in a storage compartment larger than a closet. Good product.

The light itself was perfect. Did exactly what I needed
The light itself was perfect. Did exactly what I needed. Easy to install and lit the space well, at least for the first week. Then began intermittent operation. I removed the light, took 1 screw out and found the problem was the connection inside was not glued properly. Hot glue gun took care of the problem in short order. In short the light was OK and the problem not big a deal if you don't mind paying for an item and then have to repair it.

Didn't work after one day
I received the closet light but wasn't able to install it in my motor home for several weeks. It worked for one day. I asked to return it for a credit or replacement. The supplier denied my request saying I waited too long.

Dead on arrival. I disassembled and traced the wiring right down to the LEDs. They had electricity, but would not shine. I suppose every company has duds now and then.

Awesome for the price!
I bought this to replace the in my 90 Gulfstream RV. It's brighter than the original and draws less power , nice for running on batteries while away from power or running the generator. I am going to get a few for the other closets too.
