Seems to be a good drive for a good price.
Works for me. It reads as a full 238GB free and I am getting 250mb write speeds and transferred a 7gb file in under 30 seconds. Now pay attention; there was a problem when I went to Windows command prompt and used diskpart to clean the drive and all it would do is blink 3 times ad infinitum, it would not be recognized by anything but the device manager and would not be detected or useable at all by any other program nor was it formattable BUT : I plugged it into my phone and it was recognized and then did format as exFAT, from that point on it has been fully functional. So if you have any problem try plugging the drive into your phone it may break the SSD controllers panic loop.

1TB for this price? 👍🏼
So far, very nice, better than I thought, I will be using it sparingly so, tomorrow when I backup with TimeMachine, I'll see, but today it went very well! Nice product, I might purchase a second one.

Pretty good SSD drive
This is a pretty good SSD drive. I have many drives just like this, usually they cost more. This one comes in at a really great value. I received the 120GB version which is good for transferring files between devices but not big enough for storage and editing. So as a jump drive, it is pretty good. It plays ok with my iPhone- the phone sees it and it mounts and I can copy files to it. It does not play well with my Android at all. The phone does not like it and I get errors and it just generally does not work well, however other usb-c drives work fine on it. So there is something the android does not like about it, even when it's formatted ExFat. Files transfer to and from the drive quickly and as they should. It works well on my Mac and between computers. It is metal and feels well made and solid, not cheap or junky. Other drives seem to work more seamlessly with my phones, this one seems to cause trouble, especially with the android phone. Other drives work fine, no matter how they're formatted. This one is a good value and works fine with the desktop computers.

Very underperforming piece of storage . Avoid if you need to copy more than couple gigabytes
Pros - enclosure seems to be pretty sturdy. - it still seems to be performing the very basic functions ok after couple months of use Cons - I have no idea what’s in there. Probably ok-ish controller and extremely cheap nand chips. “Upto 500MBps” speed is a delusion to trick crystal disk info. It also stays anywhere close to 500MBps for the first couple GB. Then it slows down to a crawl (<50 MBps).this is worse than old spinning 5400rpm HDD. Speed test from disk Genius attached. Even cheap consumer qlc drives could handle 10-15% at 450MBps-ish , and then drop to 100-150mbps . Not like this . Do not expect to make any backups fast .

Verified Architecture and Genuine NAND—Exactly What It Claims to Be!
Amazon is flooded with generic, low-tier storage drives that hide cheap, spoofed MicroSD cards inside oversized housings. Because of this, I ran a full forensic analysis on this drive immediately upon arrival to audit the controller firmware, verify the true storage capacity, and check the flash memory quality. I am glad to report that the Orlian 120GB External Portable SSD is the real deal—the engineering and hardware inside are exactly what they say it is, NOT a cheap knockoff! The Highlights: Legitimate NAND Flash & Controller: Under forensic testing, the internal hardware confirmed a genuine solid-state controller and verified, healthy flash cells. It passes full-drive write and verification passes smoothly with zero dropped sectors or spoofed storage registers, confirming you are getting a true, high-performance solid-state drive. Sustained USB 3.1 Gen 2 Speeds: This drive easily utilizes the high bandwidth of the USB 3.1 Gen 2 protocol. Testing confirms sequential read velocities pushing up to 500MB/s, allowing you to transfer large data files, system images, or high-definition media logs in seconds without the throttling bottleneck common in lower-tier hardware. Excellent Thermal Management: Cheaper storage knockoffs run dangerously hot or throttle to a crawl under sustained use. The Orlian casing handles dissipation efficiently, keeping the internal flash architecture cool and stable even during continuous, multi-gigabyte data verification sweeps. Flawless Multi-Platform Compatibility: The drive interfaces cleanly via standard Type-C protocols, showing immediate plug-and-play reliability across Windows, PC hardware, Android mobile units, and standard laptops. It mounts instantly with steady file system performance across different kernels. Ultra-Compact Portability: The physical footprint is exceptionally small and lightweight—smaller than a standard smartphone. It slides effortlessly into a pocket, field tech kit, or travel gear bag, providing a highly reliable, duty-grade backup target on the go.

Fast and Compact, But Speed Issues Hold It Back
I got my hands on the Orlian 120GB portable SSD for transferring files between my camera, laptop, and phone while on location shoots. The drive kinda delivers on its speed promises. The top speed I hit was 369 MB/s during transfers, which lets me move large video clips and photo batches in seconds. The aluminum casing stays cool even during sustained writes, a big plus compared to cheaper drives that throttle or get uncomfortably hot. Its size is a major advantage. The drive is smaller than a smartphone and slips easily into my pocket or tech kit, and the built-in snap-on USB-A adapter means I don’t fumble for dongles when switching between devices. It came preformatted as exFAT with about 119GB usable space, recognized instantly on Windows and Mac. My iPhone sees and mounts the drive without any issues. For desktop computers, Mac, and iOS, it performs flawlessly with solid build quality and fast transfers. This drive works great as a high-speed jump drive for computers and iOS devices at a solid value.
