Pentalic Hardbound Sketchbook 5.5 Inch X 8.5 Inch 4 Pack

These sketchbooks are wonderful, and the sale on them was amazing. I had seen them in an art supply store, and wasn't certain if I wanted to buy them. Got home and caved because I've had good experiences with the brand many times, and the price was just so good. THe quality is great, a nice medium thickness drawing paper, and a lovely cream color that looks fantastic. I love the matte covers, and the fact that they allow for easy customization for journaling or art purposes. They're a great travel size and lightweight but sturdy!However, they were shipped in a bubble envelope, which was not kind to the books. The corners were damaged, and the protective plastic was torn in many places, which could have been a problem if it had gotten wet at all. Personally, the damage isn't a huge problem for me, but I know many people who prefer their book pristine, and try to keep them that way.

These are definitely high quality and as described. I didn't want to spend too much for art journals and this was perfect without breaking the bank. Although my journals came in great condition, it was shipped in a plastic mailer and I was concerned it'd be damaged because the mailer had a lot of space for the journals to move about during transportation. Thankfully, it was okay. The outer covering of the journals is hard and the texture is like matte paper-ish texture? You could draw on it with bright pens or something if you wanted to but I'd rather keep mine clean. Overall, a great buy!
