Giro Compound Cycling Helmet

I have a confession, I hate cycle helmets. Most seem to make one look like a mushroom head. However, the added speed of my new electric assisted e-bike demands one.Happily the ‘Giro Compound’ fits over your head rather than perches on top of it, and for this single reason you don’t look a total prat.Size is true. The removable peak clips firmly to the front. The strap is easily adjustable and has enough slack to accommodate even the largest head (mine). There is a rotary adjuster at the rear to fine tune the fit, and a stealth matt black finish that doesn’t attract attention, so there is very little not to like.Incidentally, if you spend an entire afternoon researching cycle helmets, as I did, you will discover some very controversial facts. Fortunately, this helmets ticks most of those controversial boxes, so again it’s a winner. For example:1. It has a round shape so your head can roll easily on impact without being impeded by those sticky-out aero bits protruding at the back of more expensive helmets. If your head rolls naturally your neck doesn’t get strained.2. It costs relatively little. Good news, because studies show there is no difference in protection between budget and expensive helmets.So if like me you wish to wear one - and I found two studies that concluded there was no evidence cycle helmets reduced brain damage in accidents (I’ll get flamed for that), the ‘Giro Compound’ should be on your short list!

You can't adjust the straps. They suck, I hate them. I'd fit an alternative strap if that was possible but I don't think it is.

After much searching on the web, I've finally found a helmet that fits my 63/64 cm head.A real quality helmet for very sensible money, easy to adjust chin strap, nice front peak keeps the sun out of my eyes.I'd recommend this make of helmet to any newbie cyclist.

Tried a number of helmets in stores before finding the Giro (called Fixture for smaller size, but Compound for the XL !). One size fits all, and the only one not to feel uncomfortable on my head even in the shop. easy to tighten using dial control. Excellent value for money

Comfortable (once I removed the hair trapping safety stickers) and well ventilated. Nice and simple adjustable ratchet strap.

Very nice fit helmet. Plenty of adjustment and a nice simple strap clip for easy taking on and off. Would definitely recommend

Good quality Bike helmet

Lightweight and strong. It fits my fat 63cm head 🤗 recommend and it looks cool
